I just tried for a CLI with JCP and as always it was a no go. I have been stuck at $500 with JCP for 2 years. No matter the range I request, I've tried a $50 increase...$100 increase...$500 increase...$1,000 increase...but DENIED!
In the past, I gave high usage to this awesome CL *eyeroll*. I even paid in full every statement with hopes of receiving a CLI. But, when the LUV button wasn't showing me any LUV, I stopped showing the card LUV and put it in the sock drawer.
And the kicker of it all, Synchrony won't give me a CLI on my JCP card but they will approve me for another store card with....<drumroll> you guessed it, another $500 CL.
I can't wait to see why I was denied this time. My credit profile is much better than it was when I first applied for this card so I just don't understand. My blood pressure spikes when I see anything over $500 LoL!
With that $24k NFCU card in your deck, I'd almost write Sync off and say "to hell" with them (sock drawer).
I have similar beef with Discover. I have $30,000 in total CL and a whopping $500 of that comes from Discover.
Lol! Oh how I do despise, that good ole sturdy $500 CL.

Holy bajoly, you have a 24k Navy card! Thats really impressive.
Looking at your TU score, THAT is the reason your Pennys isnt moving. Once your TU gets past 670, the flood gates will open and when you hit the sweetspot of 690, Sync really opens up.
Thanks AJC, You should have seen my face when I got approved for it.
That's good to know. I guess I need to gather some patience until I reach those spots. Slow and steady right? (sigh)

^^^ This exactly.
@Summer16, as someone who was once the owner of a $200 Belk card (also Synchrony) I feel your pain, but the issue here is your low TU.
You'll likely be able to continue getting approvals for $500 Synchrony cards, but that won't help matters with your JCPenney card. I know it's not great to hear, but in this case patience is your friend.
If it were me, I would lean more heavily on your nice credit line with Discover and you awesome credit line with NFCU while you wait for your profile to age and your scores to rise... unlike my past situation, you're not at a loss for ways to pay for things.
Just an update. I got my denial letter in the mail today. The reason for denial was, Too many recent inquiries.
Oh well, in the sock drawer it will stay..... FOREVER.
