Received Walmart Credit Card Offer

How will I know if it's the store card or actual MC? It appears to be a non MC. My FICO 08 credit score is 740-753

Re: Received Walmart Credit Card Offer

No idea.  Would like to know as well.  I recieved a  prequalified Mailer for it too.  The 23% blah blah APR. Didn't specify what it was.

TU 08 694 here.

Thinking store but...isn't APR the same regardless?

Not sure either but with OP's score i would think one would qualify for the mastercard.Smiley Happy

Re: Received Walmart Credit Card Offer

I called in they told me that I wouldn't know until applied. I said no thank you since I'm not interested in the store card. Considering my credit score is in the mid 700s, I would most likely be given the MC but I don't want to take that risk. Anyhow, I have enough credit cards as it is. I was just curious.

Does anyone know if the Walmart MC offer are: save 3% on Walmart purchases, 2% on gas and 1% at any places that accept Walmart?

Re: Received Walmart Credit Card Offer

They try qualify you for MC first. With your scores I can't see a problem for you getting the MC with a decent CL.

Re: Received Walmart Credit Card Offer

Agree with coldnmn, they will try for the MC first but if you feel you have enough cards as it is, probably best to go with your instinct and hold off. If you do decide to apply, good luck to yaSmiley Happy

Re: Received Walmart Credit Card Offer

If I were to collect credit cards, it would have to be prime cards or cards for people with excellent credit. I have enough store credit cards as it is since I was quite ignorant about credit cards last year.

i have the walmart mastercard and was approved with a lower TU score than yours online, card has grown from 4000 to 12000 since january. and yes you have the offer right, 3% online, 2% gas and 1% everywhere else mastercard is taken. its not a bad card, i think you would get the mastercard for sure.

Re: Received Walmart Credit Card Offer

If the rewards arn't worth the risk definitely don't apply for Synchrony cards. The only way to get a MC etc is to apply and they try to approve you for their credit card. If your credit isn't good enough then they try approve you for the store card. There are few things in this world 100%. Giving you advice with a possible 95% chance of approval isn't good enough Synchrony isn't your cup of tea.
