On June 30, 2016 I received an email from Amex congratulating me on being selected to apply for this exclusive offer. I reviewed it for several hours, literally. Did some research on other sites and see that some have been approved for 5 Amex revolving accounts. I currently have 4 Amex revolving accounts and 1 charge account. This offer listed a specific APR of 13.24% for purchases and BT offer whereas the regular application site list a range of 13.24% to 23.24% for purchases and BT option. I called Amex and grilled them over the 4 card max rule. They said that I wouldn't be denied because I have 4 Amex revolving accounts. After a little hesitation and getting the rep to say I wouldn't be denied due to having 4 cards already on a recorded line, I let her take the app over the phone. She had previously told me that in most cases a decision will be made in 7-10 days which was concerning as we all know that most times this is not a good sign. However, I proceeded. She came back and said the app was pending. I figured if I was denied, no HP anyway. Checked EX today and see there's a HP from Amex but application status site still says pending. I applied for the Everyday Preferred on 5/4/16 and was denied with no HP. I'm going to ride it out with the hope that a HP means approval without closing an existing Amex card.

It was sort of confirmed but somewhat sketchy? in this post only a couple weeks ago.
Some mention by member jfriend33 of possibly IF in possession of a certain AMEX type card (Everyday/Everyday Preferred)?
At any rate your careful research generally yields good results.
That HP for the Everyday might just meet with their revolver criteria after all.

Thanks for link CM7. I site hope this turns into a fruitful approval and not like my $1,000 SPG that I got thinking I was going to get the bonus but didn't read the fine print which states "ever" and I had the card 2 years ago for one month before closing. Lesson learned on that one. I know some have gotten HP's and still got denied. Hopefully, I won't be in that category. I haven't really been using my Amex cards for the past 6 months. We'll see soon enough.
Obviously anyone who has followed me knows patience is not my strong suit Called new accounts and was told that the application was flagged for verification due to fraud issues. I was informed that the department that I needed to speak to doesn't work on the weekend and that I would have to call back on tuesday. The representative then said "I've put a note to have the card expressed to you at no charge to you". So I asked had the application been approved. The representative said no because I need to complete the verification process. Hopefully, this is true especially since he stated that the card would be expressed to me. I'll find out Tuesday one way or another.

That's exactly why if possible to do whatever runs are strategically planned before running up on these holiday weekend bashes.
Waiting is grueling enough as it is but waiting throughout a major holiday added on to it until the new business week begins is extra rough.

This doesn't seem too bad, as it appears that I will be approved based on the HP and the csr statements. I can wait it out without worry. I also applied for a cli with BofA to go from 42k to 57k so I can break that 700k barrier and put CAPTOOL at rest Got the dreaded pending 7-10 message. Called in and it requires manual review. Hoping they at least come back and say they can approve 50k, if not the whole thing. Hopefully, this Amex approval doesn't result in a 1k approval, but if it does, I'll take it too.

By the time i get around to collecting Amex's they'll have all fizzled out. LoL
For most they are one of the very first on a list and do grow but everybody else always keep me busy instead

I started with Firestone, Walmart store card and Barclays then came Amex. Interesting, I no longer have the 3 that I started out with.

Oddly enough i started out with US Bank at a cool $2K line and that was around 4 years ago.
It just got a SP CLI to $4.5K only recently but it stays safely nested in among the tall cedars
No Barclays and Firestone is gone here too.
US Bank, my new nemisis. I have my two US Bank cards tucked nicely away
