Recon when Comenity uses old reports for CLI?

Hi everyone! Smiley Very Happy

I recently requested a CLI with one of my Comenity accounts and was denied. I just received the letter in the mail, and it looks like they based their decision on a 5 month old credit report. I am thinkibg maybe i should try and recon this?

My scores according to myfico are more than 100 points higher today than the report they based on.

Thanks for any and all help!

99.999999% of the time Comenity does not reconsider anything.  I believe their CSRs, Supervisors and Managers cannot deviate from whatever their computers spit out.

Geez, that sucks! The letter said my score was 520, and my score today is 671. Ugh, I was afraid of that.

They use an internal scoring system, I think it goes to 999 and they denied me with something like a 982 once.  You can try to call, but your time would really be better spent watching paint dry, plucking eyebrows, arguing with a dog.....you get the point.  There's no empowerment to make any decisions and they will say "you need to spend more, you only used it X number of times.....".  Comenity cards seem to have some internal mechanism that permits CLI after a certain amount of time.  Some cards are immediate like J Crew and Total Rewards.  Others make you wait 9 months, like Express.

I am having a similar experience.  I have received two auto increases since I opened the card a little over two years ago.  At the time I was preappoved for the card, my scores were in the mid to high 500s.  I have a perfect payment history, and for the most part PIF, or the majority of the balance.  I wasn't aware that I could request a CLI until I started reading this forum.  This December, after cleaning up my credit reports, I thought I'd give it a shot.  I was declined, and have been declined again since.  The first time, I just tossed the letter in the trash, but the last time I saw that my score was 601, and was dated 11/11.  I am hoping they'll do a SP soon as it has been three months, my scores have certainly improved, and hopefully give me a higher limit!

Starting Score: EQ 657 TU 627 EX 650 12/2014
Current Score: EQ 747 TU 748 EX 738 3/2017

The good thing, is that it's a soft pull. I have been told here, that it takes at least 9 months for a CLI.

Ugh, I just posted about this before I saw your thread. I figured there had to be an expiration period that was reasonable, but I guess not. I'm just going to rip up the cards and vote against them with my wallet.

That is so lame!  I have had these 2 cards for 13+ months, never late, use them monthly, PIF before the statement cuts.

Comenity needs to stop being so sheisty! Smiley Mad

Re: Recon when Comenity uses old reports for CLI?

FYI--

I called this number to recon:

Comenity: 800-303-1368

And they did increase my limit on the one card I asked for.  It only went from 250 to 400, but it's better than nothing!

Hope this helps!
