Honestly, the cash back and 0% financing was appealing. I'm getting ready to furnish our new home and I wanted to reap the benefits of the Freedom card.
At the moment the limit is so low, the cash back option isn't really compelling. I find myself using it the least. I think I'll just SD it for now but it's a total bummer to waste the promo APR.
I would do the cobranded card route if you want an increase. My suggestion is the Marriott Premier because the AF is waived for the first year, you get a free night upon approval (along with Silver Elite status), and it seems that its pretty generous with SLs.

That sounds like a good one. I think once these report, I'll see where I stand. I can't wait to close the secured card, I am ridiculously happy that it's become superfluous.
I just can't quit mine. I am keeping my junky secured card because I look as far ahead as 10 years and know that it will drop me some few measly points so I am stuck paying $29 yearly on a card I don't use. I am however, making sure that my sister doesn't fall into the same trap.
The best thing to do is to let all them report and then wait a bit after.

As another poster noted, you probably have not been working the Freedom card nearly enough. 2 months of maxing it out? you need to do a lot more than that, and that 5% on restaurants in Q2 is a good place to start. The thing about auto CLI, you never can plan when they will occur until you see it. So keep trying.
Max it to like $450, PIF, then do the same again next week. Keep it active and the CLI will probably follow, at least enough on no HP to get a reasonable limit. Call it a gardening project.
Oh, I should have been more clear on the maxing it out statement. That was 2 months of maxing it out multiple times (4-ish) in a billing cycle, rather than the usual twice.
I was going to take advantage of the restaurants in the upcoming quarter, but it looks as if mostly chain establishments are participanting? If so, those won't be an added benefit for me and the family to use. I did take advantage of grocery stores and gas stations, but I'm not sure the other spending categories make sense for me.
I should probably hold onto it from the standpoint of it being a prime card/lender, but past that I'm not sure it's one I can work to my advantage currently.
Any Restaurant and most bars... Just how the establishment is coded is all.. Very easy quarter to max out your 5% back on... This 2 more days my Freedom will see more use than it has seen since november probably by mid month April.. I will hit the 1500 within the first month on eating out very quickly... Normally use CSP, but no brainer use 5% or 2%? hmmm
