Restricted codes capital one

I recently answered to three capital one present approved letters. Each time I applied, they approved me for 3 cards for one application!!

Anyways, used the cards for 2 weeks, restricted all my accounts. When I call, they tell me the account is okay but it's a computer glitch they are investigating.

I had to call separately for all cards and they all say the same thing.

Is anyone else getting this?? What does it mean??

No, I have not heard of that before.  Have you tried to use the cards since having that conversation with them?

Cap One only allows one new account every six months. Sounds like you found a glitch in their system. Unfortunately, my guess is that your reward for finding the glitch will be having your new accounts shut down. Only a guess, hope I'm wrong and it works out in your favor.

Re: Restricted codes capital one

No I haven't tried to use them since having the conversation with them. All I got was there was a glitch in the system and some customers accounts have been restricted. The ref no was 10016.8040 and that someone would be calling me but from what they could see the account was/is fine.

Today I called and the rep said the same thing. If there was a glitch in their system I have no problem with that but I am hoping they work with me and combine all of them together. I have been using them for the last 2 weeks after having to call them after the first use to give them more information to verify who I am.
This rep says they need to verify that I am the one who opened the account. Funny thing is when you call on one card, they can't see all the accounts you may have you have to call in separately per account.

If there was a problem though I wish someone could tell me the reason and work with me to fix and/or whoever needs to call me would call me.

Re: Restricted codes capital one

That's really odd because I app'd for 2 cards and they cancelled the 2nd app citing their policy is only one new account per 6 months and this was maybe 4 months ago.

I'm guessing it's a glitch that allowed you to open all these new accounts at once though.

Good Luck OP!

Re: Restricted codes capital one

Well that's the weird thing too I understand the glitch one app...3 cards but I got 3 pre approval letters, 3 apps, 3 cards however, each app sent out like 3 cards a piece I think that's where the problem is.

Weird they needed more info for.identity have them what they needed, chatted with the fellow told him the situation and he said there is no limit to the amount of cards but said it was probably a loop while submitting the apps.

The CSRs all day the cards are good, they just need to verify I applied and opened the accounts then everything will be fine. They do say there has been a glitch in their system the last month wouldn't elaborate.

I am fine with not all these cards if they can combine limits and reduce the amount of cards. I have kept track of them and I have only used the 3 original ones so hopefully it will work out.

The weird thing is I was approved, received and activated cards why should I suffer cuz of a problem with their system?

Re: Restricted codes capital one

I'm guessing when it is said and done you will end up with one card, not 3. Too bad it was caught-would have been a nice glitch for those who like CapOne.

Please let us know how it works out in the end. And... congrats on your 3 approvals?!?!?!?

Re: Restricted codes capital one

I would be fine with just 1 card I have been working on my credit from a nasty divorce a year ago. Bought my score up 90 points in 3 weeks so this would be the first card I would have in my own name without anyone else. Thank God I never had any bankruptcy, forclosures, etc. On my credit, just some collections and student loans.

The only problem is due to this "glitch" I have like 10 inquires from them that are new hoping it doesn't hurt me to bad will be working on getting them removed!!
