Hey, was wondering if anyone had experience with Royal CU. I think they are geo-fenced (I live near a few branches). But was wondering if anyone had any data points or if they're bankruptcy friendly.
"Royal Credit Union is a federally insured credit union proudly serving over 250,000 Members in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Royal is driven by a core ideology built on a strong purpose and values. You can open an account or apply for a low-rate loan at Royal Credit Union if you live or work in 26 counties in western Wisconsin or 16 counties in Minnesota." They have any only been spoken of once on here in 2019 that I can find with Google search RCU MyFICO.
I bank with Royal Credit Union and work for a midwest-based home improvement chain. Can't speak on the bankruptcy side (sorry) but can say that they do run new member promos at times (search them on Doctor of Credit). They also have promotions/partnerships with certain employers (like mine) and offer bonuses on new accounts, refi's, etc. They are also low fee and forgiving of the occasional banking mistake/mishap. I like them.
Just chimeing to say I am in that region too. I am on the boardline of applying for membership.
They do have low fees compare to others, but the saving/money market rate just so-so.
Thank you for the feedback. I am in MN, still deciding should I join RCU.
