SCT Help.... New here

Can someone please help me to understand what I am doing wrong here. I have cleared all cookies, I have entered info just like on credit report and I can not get the pre-qual to appear. My credit score is about 690 right now and I do not want a Hard on my credit. I have tried OS and VS... Any input would be great.

Re: SCT Help.... New here

Basic checklist:
1- Make sure you are opted in to receive pre-approved offers.
2- Use incognito, invisible, or private mode (depending on the browser).
3- Double check that ALL pop-ups are enabled. Can do this on any of the many pop-up testing sites.
4- Enter info as it appears on your TU report.
5- Enter the info slowly using no auto completes.

Good luck.

Re: SCT Help.... New here

My advice is not to bother with the sct. Do you have any real credit cards?

Re: SCT Help.... New here

You can hve 700+ Fico scores and still  not get popups. And then you can go back next week and get dozens. No rhyme or reason to it.

>7/2025 All 3 reports 830 - 845(F8) F9s = all 850 but my app finger is still twitching

Re: SCT Help.... New here

Like the other poster said, you can do everything right and still not have them pop up. I tried a few times a couple of years ago and couldn't get most of the usual ones to pop up. Only VS, but I decided against it. I already do too much shopping there. I'm trying to curb my lingerie shopping, not feed it! Smiley Very Happy

Re: SCT Help.... New here

IMHO you don't need any SCT cards unless there's one you want specifically. Without wanting to take an HP at this time you are essentially in the garden.

Right now you're running around 24% uti. Get the balances down by paying in full (PIF) on all your cards except one which you should leave a small balance on. While the numbers are variable from one profile to the next, you can expect to gain anywhere from 5-15 pts (maybe more) at next reporting. This method is usually referred to as AZEO (all zero except one) and is proven to maximize the variable part of your score based on utilization.

In going forward, take care of Disco as it will treat you very well and will grow with you. You didn't say which Cap1 card so if it's the Platinum call them up check on a PC upgrade to the QuicksilverOne. The Credit One card, if used correctly, can help somewhat for a short time. Make a charge or two early in the month, let them post, PIF using the standard no fee payment option, don't swipe it again until the next month. Problem free card if used in this way until the second year when the annual fee is split into monthly payments. For this reason I usually recommend closing the card in the 11th month.

Good luck going forward.

Re: SCT Help.... New here

Thank you for the advice, My credit was shot for the past 7 years as my husband dies and I was left with all negative on my credit. I am slowly starting to climb back up.  I forgot to mention that I have the following also. As for as the Capital One card it is the Capital One Platinum ( I dont believe there is a annual fee) plus my new  husband and I have the following together

Car loan blance 12,500.00

Harley Davidson Loan 10,500.00

Thank you again for your help, I wasnt sure if I should try to get a few other cards to have more credit available (I wasnt going to use)

Re: SCT Help.... New here

Don't bother with SCT -- Overstock can be really overpriced and I see a lot of folks get a big limit there and then immediately run it up.

I'd stop building more accounts and let your current ones age.  In 6-12 months bet you start getting offers from good bank cards instead of somewhat useless store cards.

Congrats on your rebuilding!

Imo, the last thing your current profile needs is more low limit cards and the SCT cards will fall in that category.
