FWIW before I joined in June 2013 I had read on here that they sometimes offer targeted offers on credit cards.
True to form I received a targeted offer in the mail in June 2014 and waited to apply until then. Instant approval.
For those who really want this card I recommend switching to a long-term strategy. It paid off for me.

So you joined with a savings? Checking? account, then they made you an offer a year later..... that could work. I really would like to have their card.
I am actually thinking about getting a PLOC at my credit union to cover any emergency's and have another install account...they have rates down to 8.74%, their cards go down to 6.9%... (JSCFCU)... I just like the idea of having a card from the State Departments CU.

Thanks Ihcole77!
I am actually thinking a PLOC might suite my needs better than doing a revolving BT card where the util is a lot finickier than a loan. Is it harder to get than a cc? They have good rates at my CU and it sorta works like a Revolving right? I think I will start another post with this question because I am getting off topic...Im hijacking my own thread....lol
Most PLOCs report as revolving. Just FYI.
I'm not sure which is easier to get. I recommend applying for the one that you want.

???? So whats the difference? Why go for a PLOC over their card?
