I have my eye on the SPG Amex due to the new 30,000 point bonus (with incognito mode). I have a large expense coming up that is almost exactly $3000 so I'd rather put it on a new card to get the sign up bonus instead of paying cash or with another card. I was wondering if anyone that was recently approved for the card could provide some data points so I'd get a better idea if I would be approved. I've had a Platinum and PRG for right at a year but don't have any Amex revolvers.
Should be fine if you have two other cards for a year with AMEX.. Amex looks more at relationships than scores IMO also it would only be a SP if declined most likely. So really you have nothing to lose other than AAoA hit if approved which I suspect you would be if you have treated the other two cards you have with them appropriately. They is no set EXP score needed.
I was approved about a month ago for the business version, but long time relationship with AMEX.. Exp score around 705 at time of approval, good income, old baddies 6ish years old that have been paid, etc.
I was approved with a short relationship with Amex and my scores were in the low 700's. A friend of mine was approved for the very same card as a first Amex revolver and no prior relationship. His SL was $1k and his EX was in the 640 range.
Approved earlier this month for the business version. No previous relationship with Amex, a few newer reported credit lines (as AU), but no HPs (that I'm aware of), scores are in my signature.
I was just approved yesterday for the same 30k offer. It is my first Amex credit card. My Experian FICO was 734 with just over two years of credit history, and stated my annual income of 45k. Lady said I was approved for 10k SL which my highest limit card is Barclay at 5k and total credit limit was under 10k. They really must be trying to be my main credit card
