Safe to apply for the more elite amex cards if preqalify page shows BCE?

Amex shows me the BCE and another card as pre-qualified. Is it safe to go for a more elite card instead? I feel teh criteria to get any card would be almost the same if you pre qualify for one card with amex?

My youngest inquiry will pass 3 months mark in a week so i was planning on applying then. Total inquiries in last 12m is 2. Aaoe is 9m

Not necessarily true. Some prequal s revolver but still get rejected for a charge card or vice versa. I think "elite" is subjective. BCE is as good card if it benefits you. Go for what works for you.

The BCE is a great card.  I started out with Am Ex with one, eventually upgraded to the BCP.  Your scores are good, AAOA is a little green.  Your cards in your siggy look very good - I'd apply!  Your sl may be low, but it will grow over time.  Update if you app, good luck!

I'll make up my mind in a week or two then. I want to get an auto loan in 2 to 5 months so I'm thinking whether to hold off on new credit card apps for now. I don't need more credit tbh and just want it for new relation ship with amex or any other bank outside of my current ones.
