Safe to go for Amazon Prime in Feb?

Hello,

After Jan I will drop to 4/24 in personal cards (5/24 with AU, so expecting instant denial due to algorithm, then a recon), and want to finish up my Chase cards for the time being with the Amazon Prime. stats:

750 FICO EX
No bads
4 Years AAOA
Feb 2019 - Freedom
June 2019 - Gold
Sep 2019 - CSP, CU

Do y’all think I should be safe to go for it then? My only concern is a potentially lower limit since I’d be using it fairly extensively.

Re: Safe to go for Amazon Prime in Feb?

From the small amount of DPs I've personally seen that matches up roughly to what I'm expecting/hoping for for a SL. I actually have considered the AMEX Business Prime but I'm on the fence as my only business venture is some etsy-type nonsense. I realize not everyone with a business card is rocking their own...companies...we'll say, but I would have to take a hard look at whether the relief of not having to deal with one more Chase poke would be worth it.

The AmEx Amazon Biz Prime would certainly be a good alternative, especially if you are self employed or sole proprietor with your side business.  This way you're not heavily laden with several Chase accounts from the get-go and keep yourself diversified. My guess (only a hunch) would be that if you applied for the Chase Amazon version, if approved, you'd definitely be stuck with a lower than expected SL given your existing exposure with them, but who knows.  Good luck with whatever you decide 👍

Your last statement or concern doesnt make sense or i should say warrant concern / senseSmiley Wink. Your sl wont be considerably lower becsuse you would use it extensively. First, they wont know how you will use it and secondly, your sl will be determined by your income, credit profile, and overall Limits Chase is willing to extend, also relating to your internal score.

I have thought about both of those points as well, and I think I'm evaluating overall if the card would even be worth it since I still have to factor in Prime and my Amazon spending in general. I also kind of have this weird FOMO since I won't be under 5/24 otherwise? It sounds dumb but I'm sure I'm not unique in that regard.

Also @AverageJoesCredit, I apologize but my last statement in the initial post was meant to convey this: I'm afraid of a lower SL because I intend to use the card more extensively, and having a lower SL would hinder that. Hopefully that makes sense!
