Re: Santander Underwriting Call? UPDATE: 2 MONTHS LATER APPROVED!

Grats on getting approved! Seems they are like Simmons Bank. Glad you stayed the course and kicked down the barriers by obtaining the card. Enjoy your new score.

Update! This has been my longest approval ever, literally about 2 months since I applied and I just got the credit card "pin" in the mail today. Called in today to see what was going on as they denied me a checking account (was trying to get the bonus) because I lived to far away from their "footprint" okay cool.... well anyway long story short 3 weeks ago got a denial letter for the credit card app saying they were unable to verify my address and that was the only reason, so I rolled the dice sent a copy of my Driver License and Lease Agreement back to the Credit Card appeal address. The approval is for the Sphere card with a measly $1,200 limit but at least I have a MC in my profile now and hopefully can convince them to hook me up with the checking account now that I have a relationship with them. I am also excited to have a card that does not have a Chip in it! The lady I spoke with said they didn't have any plans to put chips in the card either, praise! Looking forward to using this card just so I can get that sastifying "swipe" feel.

Promo with the card is 24 months 0% APR BT, 12 months 0% on purchases, and 10,000 points after $1k spend so not bad, certainly would prefer to have a bigger limit but it will grow in time hopefully.

@I picked up this Sphere card like 2 months ago for the 2 year BT @ 0% and **bleep**, they only gave me a 3400 SL.   Now, last month I picked up the Avianca Visa and they gave me a 17,200 SL and a BT for 1 year @ 0% with a 2% fee.  Well, recently my crappy  Comenity Bank Visas -- Orbitz, Toyota, and Total Rewards Visa have all offered me a BT till July 2018 with a 1% fee -- Just goes to show, there's no rhyme or reason with these cards........

Re: Santander Underwriting Call? UPDATE: 2 MONTHS LATER APPROVED!

Yeah I think Santander is intentionally giving out really low SL with this card just so they can mitigate their losses. They have already stopped taking online apps. Another cool thing about the card though I guess is it is the World Mastercard so thats nice at least. I got the highest regular APR after the promo which really I won't even be able to use due to it having such a low limit... oh well hopefully it will grow and they will offer retention offers in the future! Best feature of the card for me is the no chip Smiley Wink

Sorry to bump an older thread. Do you or does anyone have a backdoor number to Santander's underwriting department? The branches seem to be of no use, and claim even they don't speak to anyone in the underwriting dept., unless it's a mortgage or home equity. Strange.
