Savor One Denial (different fico score?)

They said too many inquiries among other things. I guess I'm truly in the garden now.

At the second page of the denial letter it said they pulled my credit (EX) and it was 668. That's very wrong, as I have fico and they say my score is 698. Why the difference?

Re: Savor One Denial (different fico score?)

I believe CapOne uses your mortgage score (or one of the older versions of FICO), not FICO 8. There are a total of 28 FICO versions and banks can use whichever they wish.

Sorry about the denial.
Personal Aphorism:"Forget What You Feel, Remember What You Deserve"
Starting FICO 8s | 09/2017: EX 641 ✦ EQ 634 ✦ TU 647
Current FICO 8s | 04/2022: EX 796 ✦ EQ 793 ✦ TU 790
Current FICO 9s | 04/2022: EX 790 ✦ EQ 788 ✦ TU 782
2022 Goal Score | 800s

My AAoA:
4.6 years not incl. AU / 4.9 years incl. AU
My AoOA: 9.2 years not incl. AU / 11.2 years incl. AU
Inquiries: EX 0/12 ✦ EQ 0/12 ✦ TU 0/12
Report Status: Clean
Garden Status:

Without patience, we will learn less in life. We will see less. We will feel less. We will hear less. Ironically, rush and more usually mean less.

FICO says ONE of your scores is 698 but not necessarily the model that Capital One used in the decision.

Sorry for the denial.

You’re right though about gardening. All these apps - BOA, Citi, Sync, AMEX, CapOne - and associated inquiries and new account hits for the ones you’ve been approved for are taking their toll.

To be blunt, your profile isn’t strong enough to support your ways currently, and the declines are indicative of that. Take a break and let these new accounts age and stop hurting your score.

Sorry about the denial.

I know they use it for CLI as well.

OP, sorry for your decline. I would suggest trying their prequel page once your done gardening especially since they are always a triple HP. Cap1 prequels are pretty solid. That’s how I got my Savor One approval.

I did use the pre-qual site. Venture, Savor, QS and platinum preferred all came up.

Re: Savor One Denial (different fico score?)

Unfortunately the prequal SPs EQ and they appear to have had a problem with activity on your EX.

Not always the case, at least not in recent times based on how Capital One has tweaked their algorithms.  While for the most part they tend to yield favorable results for specific profiles, even their pre-qualified offers have yielded declined outcomes.  Just something to consider whenever using the pre-qualified tool.

Sorry to hear that OP. Unfortunately prequels are never 100% guaranteed.
