Re: Scores finally up - Time to app? Advice please

Ok, I jumped in.  Appd for the Chase Marriott Rewards Premier and was instant approved for $5,000!!  Pretty pumped now that I have my first Visa Signature.  For you more experienced folks, should I recon for a better limit given I can fax to them proof that I have zero debt and have the deed to my home?

I don't want to get greedy here but should I take a shot at an Amex charge account?

It wouldn't hurt to recon. Yes to the Amex. Just stay at apping for 3 max. You don't want your AAoA to go way down!

If they approved you for $5,000 then that's all they'll likely give for now. I wouldn't risk another hard pull (again) just to find that out. (I did and it failed, miserably.)

Go for the AMEX Charge! PRG and get those MR's!

I did not realize that they do another HP. I'm not to that level yet. I agree with Nixon and don't recon. Only recon companies that do SP's.

Yes I would apply for prg charge card AND a credit card product at same time as very good chance you get both on 1 pull

Wow, what a day.  I did just app the PRG and was instantly approved, no recon needed.  I never thought I was going to finally see a day like this.  The Platinum is tempting but I don't travel enough for that AF justification.

Go for the AMEX Everyday or BCE. You will have a great shot at it. And a good limit. But keep it to 3 apps so your numbers don't decrease too much.

Keep us posted.

Congrats!

Re: Scores finally up - Time to app? Advice please

Focused, I am meeting with Wells Fargo Advisors on Friday.  I think I will be set for the Wells Fargo Advisors Premier Rewards Visa Signature, after that I'm in the garden and going to make sure I take excellent care of these new opportunities.  I am really satisfied with this today and not going to repeat past mistakes.

Curious, once these start reporting what do I do with my Capital One with its $300 limit?  Just SD it?  I also opened a $5,000 secured Visa with US Bank in September this year.  Just SD that or possibly close it and get my deposit back?

Thanks everyone!!  This forum is the bible on recovery, no doubt.

1. You should really get an Amex credit card today with your prg
2. I'd call usbank and ask them to unsecure the card.
3. You could call cap1 EO for CLI and upgrade to quicksilver or venture
