Second Penfed card app

I was looking for a card that primarily pulled from Equifax. My score on Equifax was 786 with 2 inquiries in the last 24 months. I have utilized Penfed for 2 personal loans and 1 auto loan and paid them off and I have 1 credit card paid off with them. I was prequalified and my app went into pending, needing 2 pay stubs. In the application info it says $10,000 credit applied for.  I'm assuming that will be my limit if approved? Do they normally request recent paystubs to process an application?

Yes, Penfed verifies income, they check data furnerishers as well when making the decision. Make sure those are updated.PenFed.pngScreen Shot 2025-11-20 at 8.26.11 PM.png

I think they usually verify your ability to pay by looking at your stated income on the application and your credit history. Most credit card companies don’t request pay stubs.

Re: Second Penfed card app

I submitted the requested pay stubs and the next day it changed to conditionally approved. Now just waiting for the application to finish processing.

Re: Second Penfed card app

I applied for two PenFed cards about a week apart. This was back in 2021.
The first was an instant approval. The second went to review and they asked for proof of income, last two pay stubs.

Re: Second Penfed card app

I did the same and had the same thing happen. One of them was eventually closed for nonuse. This time my credit was much better. That's why I decided to app for a second card again.
