Secured Cards With Credit Unions...

I have two NFCU cards and a Capital One card.

I want to add another card, whether secured or not.

What credit unions offer secured cards that will approve those applications with fresh bankrupcies on their reports ?

(SDFCU could not verify my idenity and were a nightmare to deal with so they are out)

I live in Los Angeles, if that helps.

Thank you

Maybe I'm biased and like NFCU too much, but I think if you already are running 2 cards with them and have another with C1, you don't need any more and should just stick with NFCU

I agree with @Anonymous

To answer your question, there are Golden 1and SchoolsFirst. I don't know how friendly they are with fresh BK.

I don't know how fresh your bk is but I was able to get a PenFed Power Cash Rewards card with a $7,500 SL at 6 months post CH7. My EQ9 was 725 at the time of application and I received instant approval. Of course, YMMV.

Nice, I can't get any cards with Penfed, they were IIB.

Try NIHFCU..They recently opened their membership up. You only need to have a membership with the American Consumer Council which is $15 for the lifetime membership

Adding on to this

US Alliance CU offers a free membership with ACC if you apply for membership with them

Datepoints:

Golden 1 is bk friendly for a secured card. I got approved for 3k. They actually have hard limits on their secured cards based on your credit. You can't just deposit any amount into their savings and think that equals the credit limit, like most secured cards. I have some time to decide whether I want to move forward with this card, so I am still thinking about it.

I joined NIHFCU and approved for a regular visa and a holiday loan, both are pending.
