Re: Shopping Cart Trick

1 account doesn't matter -- as long as there's no annual fee, keep it towards utilization and aging.  if you close it, it'll stay on your CRs for 10 more years.

Re: Shopping Cart Trick

It took me over 3 months of trying before the popup worked for me.  Now it doesnt stop.

If you want the WS Visa, just cold app for it because either way, its going to be a HP

Re: Shopping Cart Trick

Oddly enough, Overstock doesn't offer me the SCT unless I type in my old address from 2+ years ago.  Not sure why that is as all my CRAs show my new address as the primary, and I didn't have an Overstock account at the old address ever.

Never accepted it because their prices seem to be 30% higher than Amazon on the items I am interested in, though.

Re: Shopping Cart Trick

I have never gotten the Williams Sonoma one to work.   I have gotten 4 pop-ups for other Comenity and 3 of which I accepted cards but never William Sonoma.  Williams Sonoma must have higher standards.  I have a 5k limit on my Pottery Barn one.  Same company as Williams Sonoma so I don't know why they don't offer me one especially since I shop there a lot.

That's weird because my FICOs are under 600 except TU which is 600 right now.  They gave me the SCT on the first time I ever created a small cart -- I wasn't even expecting the SCT because I don't really ever see it elsewhere.

Any chance you're typing your address in wrong or some other detail that might not match your CRAs properly?

Hoping for auto CLIs on this one because I actually have a bunch of things on my WS wish list and 5% rebates on a few grand of purchases this summer would be great.  Plus their 15-20% off sales are always useful for me.

Ok so I just tried with an Incognito window in Chrome and it showed up when I checked out as a guest.  I didn't accept as I have 12 new cards in the last 3 months.

Smart to avoid it -- if it isn't a useful card, no need to scare your other banks!

Re: Shopping Cart Trick

My WS Siggy Visa was done through the SCT and there was never a HP. There are several others who have had the same experience.

Re: Shopping Cart Trick

Just curious because I was on Overstock and a Preapproval Popup showed up at checkout, is this the shopping trick everyone is talking about?  I noticed it asked for my full SSN number so I wasn't sure.

I don't play on getting it but just wanted to be sure in the future if I see one, what does it look like.  Because after searching the forums it seems as if they would only ask for my last 4 of my SSN and not the full or is that depending on the website/merchant?
