Re: Shopping cart trick work for you?? Please add to list!

Hello! I've seen "hit the love button" referenced several times, with a resulting cli. Can you tell me what that means, and where I would find a love button?

The "luv" button is the button for requesting a CLI. On Synchrony accounts (atleast my Lowes card), it's next to your available credit limit, and says "request increase".

The Comenity luv button is also located next to the available credit, it reads "Request Credit Limit Increase".

It's Internet shorthand for they requested a credit limit increase on a card that doesn't do a hard pull for it.

I got the popup for Boscov's.  During checkout I selected the Boscov's credit card and then I got the popup.  Only asked for last 4 of ssn, no HP, approved for $3,000.  I ordered some items and received them super fast!

Did you ever try for this card? I just got the popup as well but it doesn't say pre-approved or anything.

How do you know if you are opted-in? If you don't have a security alert or freeze why would it not work after 5 days? How do you know if it will take 6 months for you? When people can't get it to work initially what are they doing?

Re: Shopping cart trick work for you?? Please add to list!

I tried pretty much all of the stores on the 2016 list, and I was pre-approved for:

Overstock ($1,000 cl)

BrylaneHome ($500 cl)

Ann Taylor (initially $250, but bumped to $750 somewhere in the process between approval and receiving the card - woot!)

J.Crew ($750 cl).

When I received the cards, I tried the luv button on Ann Taylor just for kicks, and got another $200 for a total cl of $950. I wish I had started asking for cli with BrylaneHome - I would use that card more often, I think. When I hit the luv button for that card, I get the 7-10 day letter notice. I would really love to get the Torrid card, so I'll give it another try in a few months. Overall, I'm very pleased - it's a solid start to re-building. I recently got a Capital One Platinum with a $500 cl, and hope to increase that one with careful use in the next few months. $3,700 in credit within a couple of weeks feels pretty good, after years with no credit cards at all.

Thanks Boonie.
I just visited Boscov's and got the pop-up. Made the small purchase that I had in my cart.
