Should I Apply....Thoughts

Buying a home...closing on Thursday.  After closing, I hope to take advantage of a credit card with 0% interest for several months to buy a few things for the house.   Received a preselection lttr for Citi Thank You Preferred Card.   Heres a little about me.  FICO- 686 (Efax) 702 (TU) 707 (Exp)....Credit Karma has my scores 656 (Efax) and 658 (TU)....not sure how they can be that different but they are.  Credit Utilization is 31%....4 TU hard Inquires and 7 (Exp) in the last year.  Only 3 within the last 6 months (all related to mortgage).   2 paid closed collections from 2011.  Based on this, what do you think my chances are getting approved for Citi ThankYou Preferred?  Credit Karma suggests my chances with American Express  Blue Cash Everyday as "very good."  They list Chase Slate as a "good chance."   Based on this and your experience which card might give me the best chance of approval?

Thanks

First, you can ignore the credit karma scores. Nobody uses them. And REALLY ignore their CC recommendations. They get paid to put them up. Frankly, I don't think your odds are very good for a Citi card. They're a very conservative lender. The mailer you received is just marketing.

I agree completely! Ignore anything you find on Credit Karma besides the credit reports.

I would look at a different lender to try and get a 0% offer if I were you. Maybe try your luck with Amex or Capital One.
