Should I app?

Need a little advice on my credit situation. Currently I have a secured credit card opened at the end of February 2014. I also have apple Barclaycard that I opened in October with 0% APR for the purchase of a phone. I opened this account to further establish my credit history.  I am interested in applying for an unsecured card with rewards, as the only benefit of the Barclaycard is the financing offer.  I’d prefer a Chase freedom, but I am hesitant to apply before I am fairly certain of my chances of being approved. I say this because my current credit scores are fairly good, ~720 vantage, fico score 706 (available through my Barclay), 100% on-time payments and under 30% utilization of these two accounts. However on my extended credit report I am listed as an authorized user on a few accounts that belonged to my parents.  Most of them are in good standing however two have derogatory marks that I'm not sure if they are affecting my credit score or not.  According to credit karma my score is being generated based on the active accounts that I have now which are 100% in my name, including average age of accounts and utilization, however these potentially derogatory accounts seem like they would effect an application.  I'm not sure if I should dispute them being on my report as they might be adding considerable time to age of open accounts and total credit limit but are also potential adding derogatory marks including 120 days overdue and a charge off.  I'm also not sure if this is possible as they have now been closed for a decent amount of time. My question is should I leave them be until they fall off in approximately two years or dispute them? Should I apply for the Chase card now or until those are removed?  Is 6 months from the opening of the secured card enough in terms of inquiries?  I’d like to close that card to avoid paying another annual fee.  Thanks for the help.

While you might get approved for the Freedom now Id definitely get those AU accounts off of your reports.  Any positive effect they have because of age and limits is more than offset by the 120 late and charge off

Re: Should I app?

If the freedom interests you, run chases prequal. Reports are that they are 99% golden. and my guess is that 1 percent that arent have fairly dramatic changes between the last SP and applying.
