Should I apply for chase csp?

Hello! I have been gardening since may 3017 after getting my goal card- the Amex plat. I have savings and checking accounts with chase and I noticed that they have a 60k points offer for the CSP for me. I found this kind of odd given my Fico’s are around 650 or so. I’ve read that this is pretty much a preapproval?
Secondly, or really, my main concern is that my average age of accounts is very low- almost 3 years. I started reestablishing my credit 3 years ago. I’ve always thought about getting a “good” Visa card for places they don’t accept Amex and just to have a solid credit card as an additional backup. I currently have a Capone quicksilver with no annual fee but I really want the signup bonus. I guess after a year I can PC to a Freedom card?

What do you think? I’m not looking to buy a car or apply for a loan for another 2 years otherwise.

Hey if you want it..go for it. Oh and welcome from the future. lol
Your AAoA is higher than mine. 3 years AAoA isn't bad. Your internal score with them must be pretty good!

Re: Should I apply for chase csp?

I don't think so, most of the benefits might be nerfed in 3017 and I even doubt the product would exist at all.

jk

Did they give you a firm APR in the price terms? If so you should be good to go. What about online prequals? 3yrs AAoA is pretty good if you have at least 4--5 accounts open.

Yes you can product change CSP to Freedom after a year.

Unfortunately, I’m getting a range from 16.99% to 23.99%. So I guess it’s not a sure thing? I don’t see anything on the prequal. Yes, I do have 5 accounts in that AAoA

You can always check in branch to see if you're pre-qualified for it. It's worked for some though no guarantee either way.

Re: Should I apply for chase csp?

If you have a good payment history since the rebuild and don't mind adding new inquiries, you could give it a try. Apparently it's not a sure thing unfortunately, and we're not magical crystal balls. The 60k offer is a limited-time offer, and since you don't plan on major loans in the next 2 years an inquiry isn't much a big deal IMO.

Just take it easy if they aren't approving you yet. If they decline you, wait for the letter and focus on the reasons for denial so you know which parts in your credit you have the space to improve. Would still make some good advice from Chase.

Re: Should I apply for chase csp?

If you can make the spend to get the 60k and don't mind the HP, there's no reason not to pull the trigger. When I got my FU, I had the 300/500 offer in-branch but not online. It wasn't an instant approval, but the $500 SL has grown.

Best of luck, OP!

Re: Should I apply for chase csp?

I went ahead and submitted the app today and got the "We will let you know by U.S. Mail within 30 days. We need more time o review your information."

Well, my payment history has been perfect since I've started re-building but there are still 2 derogs (Collections) on my profile so I doubt i was approved. Will be surpised and glad if they do approve me, though! I can meet the spend and it'd be nice to put thos epoints towards a trip across the pond!

Let's see. Back to the garden for now!

Best of luck! My FU was 30 days as well. Go ahead and call the robo-lady.
