Hi everyone
So my cap1 QS received a 1000 CLI a couple of weeks ago, I started school but will need to use my credit card for my kids to be in daycare for 8 weeks while I take my CNA course. After a discount they're giving me, my children's daycare costs will be 2500 for the whole 8 weeks, other wise it will be 2816 (or $88 a day).
I want to request another CLI from cap1 to 3000, that way I can save 316 dollars.
It starts in October, should I a) email EO and ask them for the CLI directly? B) call for a recon on my CLI even though it's been a couple of weeks or c) wait till the time gets closer and just run this card up and pay it down?
I should also mention I've only had this card since March, it is my every day card and I have never been late. Cap1 also gave me a 300 unsecured CLI on my secured card after only 9 months of use on that so I feel like they think im a good customer haha!
What are your Fico Scores and what does your credit profile look like? Do you have any other cc's? If things are fine with scores/profile, I'd suggest trying for another card that may produce a higher SL.

You'll likely see it reflect on your card way before you ever hear from then again. I just went through this 2 weeks ago for 2 of my cards. Modest bumps from 850->1500 and 2000->2500. They weren't crazy but I gladly took them as they were better than nothing. 1500 might be a bit much unless your really pumping $$ through it. But anything is better than nothing. Good luck. What a quick response time. Mine was next day.
That's awesome Kuma! I'm glad they got back to you so quickly. Did you see the increase next day or couple days after talking it over? I explained everything about the childcare and told her once I become nurse who makes good money I won't forget how much right they've done by me haha 1500 is solid honestly, but instead of juggling it on a bunch of cards it would help me stupendously so I can get the rewards and bring my util down after!

It never hurts to ask, but I know that the only route to request a certain dollar amount is to go through the EO. Cap One says that all their auto increases are the max that you quailfy for. And you just had a CLI a couple weeks ago and need another in 2 months and it's a newer account? It's a hard call. You are probably on the step program so that should bump you 500.00 by then. Call the EO though, they will manual review your account, good luck!
