I'm scared so much of a FR since I'm self employed and a college student, but I need my credit report to look as amazing as possible for my mortgage application. Since I have a 10k limit on my AMEX (I also have a green card), can I ask for 20k or is that just asking for it? Also, will opening up a mortgage, a car loan, and two student loans trigger it? I know I'm probably overthinking it, but I don't want to go through it since I have weird income.
Thanks!

I went from $12K to $22K like nothing- it was instant approved. Of course, it depends what you last SP was and income...
I have an income of 35k, give or take a little bit. I have 16.1k total credit right now.
Hey dude. It's doubtful you'd get FRed for requesting a CLI. You might get asked to send in a 4506-T but that's not an FR. I went from $10,000 to $25,000 on my SPG card without being asked for anything. It wasn't instant though. I got a 7-10 day message and was approved 2 hours later.
Don't ask for more than $25K. AMEX seems liberal enough up to $25K, after that they start asking for paperwork.
So if I ask for 20k I should be alright? It won't draw too much attention?
Thanks for all the help guys!
I appreciate it
do 25k
Anything under 25k you should be fine. Try asking for around 20-22k and if they approve you then great! if not then they're counter offer with still a significant offer.
Hope it works out for you!
Just go for the limit you want and they'll probably counteroffer. No big deal. I heard it's different if you ask for more than 25k though so I'd be more cautious there.
