Should I try for an AMEX 3x CLI?

I am at day 62 with my AMEX BCE card.  I was only approved with an intial CLI of $1000 and tried for an immediate increase when I received the card but was declined. I have run about $1500 through the card and it currently has no balance.  The only problem is my EXP score is 664. The other two are 679 (EQ) and 693(TU)  What do you think my chances are for the 3x CLI?

What baddies are on your EX report? How many recent inquiries? What's your AAoA?

I think I have a baddie for $48 that is suppose to be removed still on my EX and TU that was placed there last month.  It is suppose to be removed soon (it was a mistake).  It is effecting the EX more than TU. No other negatives.  AAOA is 3.1  I recently obtained the AMEX Green, AMEX BCE and Chase Freedom.  Overall tilization is about 25% (no balance on any new card though.  For some reason, I can't qualify for more than $1000 CL when I apply for a card (although I do have an Amazon and Wally at $3500 and $4000).  Everything else is stuck below $2000.  So, I am wondering if it is going to be realistic for AMEX to approve the 3x CLI.  And if denied, do I have to wait another 90 days?

I would wait until the baddie is gone. Yes, if denied you have to wait another 90 days.

Yeah, good advice.  Been trying for over a month and a half to get it fixed.

You will not get the 3x CLI before 90 days from your denial. The SL indicates that they want to see how you handle the card first. Good luck.

Do as Captool suggests...makes sense. If you get counter-offered an increase of only $500 you'll be unhappy. If you wait and get a huge increase then you'll be happy!
