I really need you smart people on this. Nixon, Irish80 and the rest of the gang! You can see what cards and score I have below. I just got Nasafcu cash card 20k, then apped for penfed and was denied sighting 9 year 11 month bk, they did allow me to join though. I think this was my first ever deniel. My Question is, I want join nfcu and get their flagship card. Should or could I app now or wait 2 months till BK falls off and only 7 cards show a balance and 12 show a zero balance. do you think I should pull the trigger now or simply wait. Simply wait is the hardest thing to do because I have 2 big expeinces that will raise my utilization from 17% to over 20%I need to charge but am putting off till I app for nfcu. My dog tore her acl 3k and I need a new truck Cash advance 3 k. Am I overly paranoid or being smart? Help!

If you're eligible to join NFCU, do it now and wait a day or so to see if you get any preapproved card offers from them. If not, I'd apply anyways. Now for your choice of cards, why do you want the Flagship? Unless NFCU is offering a large points bonus (which they aren't right now), I'd suggest going with the cash rewards card instead.
Thanks Irish80, I will listen to you and go for it. Yes I am elgible 100%. I just figured Flagship because a better chance for a higher starting limit. Question Irish should I get a saving account or open a checking account??? If I open a checking will I be able to app for their loc?
GoRewards or CashRewards???

Cash Rewards and I don't that you would have any better chance at a high starting CL with the Flsgship.
Open both the required savings and a checking account. Immediately after applying for cc, apply for the LOC for $15K

Is this the same process for Penfed?
(Sorry to but in)

Somewhat but PenFed is much tougher than NFCU.
