Denied for the Simmons Bank Rewards Visa Signature. Talked to underwriting, reason for denial was I didn't have two accounts reporting a year each of payment history. That's because my student loans have only been reporting for five months. Good news for anyone else applying is that you don't have to have a credit card, just two positive accounts.
I don't think the accounts have to be open either as long as they have 12 month payment history. UW told me I only had one account on my credit report that counted, and it was a closed credit card.
You do know you need 785+ scores for Simmons Bank Visas. They are an EXTREMELY hard card to get you have CLEAN files with some history attaced

Knew they were tough although not certain about the min score you mentioned. Can you back that score up with a source? I could of sworn I have seen people get approved for them with lesser scores. Honestly they aren't that great of card compared to CU cards that kinda spank them w/regards to APR's and limits, but I admit I eventually want one of there cards to say "I have made it" in my rebuild and to end a chapter in my life. Have a branch about 1/4 mile down the street but waiting for my last late payments to fall off later this year. Whether I have too much credit for them is another story

Couple years back there were a couple of articles/blogs I came accross when I was dreaming about this card
https://www.financeglobe.com/credit-cards/card-application/AppStatusID-1683/
This was one of them
The other one which I cant find ATM was an article (Forbes I swore ) listing the hardest credit cards to acquire. I remember #1 was Bank of Dubai with Simmons being about 12th
or so. They stressed 775 (IIRC).
Ill continue to try to find this for you
