I know this is a subject that is gone over a lot on these forums, so thought I would take advantage of the massive amounts of knowledge from the members also
DW small spree coming up within the next couple of days. Have gotten her scores (all FICO) to 631 EQ, 667 TU, 657 EX. Expect another jump when an Amex she is an ACM on reports a 0 balance down from a 5415/6000 balance. Which should be soon as the closing date was March 15.
She is currently pre-approved for Cap One Venture/V One/QS, but no other pre-approval site gives anything.
Cards wanted are tailored to our current spending habits and future spending as we plan to travel a bit more in the future.
Cap One - Venture or V One
Chase - Marriott and AARP
Amex - ED, EDP, maybe the Delta (maybe)
Barclay - Arrival (whichever)
Just wondering on the thoughts of chances, suggestions on what not to even try for or alternatives, etc.
Her info is as follows:
AAoA - approx 2.5 years - oldest account 10 years, newest 6 months
Cap One Secured and QS1 at $750 and $1750 respectively
Few Comenity store cards - all over $1500, with JCrew being the highest at $8450
Discover IT - $500
NFCU goRewards - $4000
Once Amex reports util will be about 5%
Baddies vary from 1 on TU from 6 years ago, to 4 on EQ and EX from 6+ years ago, all scheduled to fall off within the next year to year and a half, all medical.
1 late payment reported from Capital One Nov 2011 - 30 day late and they won't budge on removal .
I appreciate any and all input
Give a small update as a sort of bump.
Alert today that Lane Bryant card updated to 0 balance, EXP jumped 16 points to 673. CK shows EQ utilzation at 6% now as Amex did update but TU still hasn't. I know CK is to be taken with a grain of salt, but her EQ score there jumped 26 points with the util update.
Just waiting for FICO's to update and advice/suggestions from you great guys and gals
I say that plan looks great!
