Small app spree?

So on the 26th I'll have have quite a few inq reaching a year on all bureaus(ex 4, tu 3, equifax 11) and my oldest line aging to 3 years.
Hopefully on the first a pre app for venture will show up since I'll have had credit for 3 years now and quite a few cards with high limits(reasons for rejections in August)
I'm really just looking for bonuses while adding some solid cards to my profile. Does anyone have any recommendations?
Freedom is out based on 5/24 unfortunately(though I may stop into a bank and see if there's a prequal)
If the reported 5/24 goes on to the cobranded cards I could see myself going for one of the southwest cards also.
Are there any higher end cards with solid bonuses I have a solid shot at?
Don't really mind annual fees(assuming it's below 100) income is around 50k.
The citi premier seems like a solid card, but I feel like I never see any posts about it or that anyone has it at all.
Anyway, I'm just looking for any recommendations on apps. Only looking for 3 MAYBE 4 cards. Are there any not-often thought of cards that are worth looking into? Like the chase Disney, etc etc. What's your favorite card/bonus?

Depends on what your goal is are you looking to do more traveling or do you prefer cash back?

Re: Small app spree?

Are these cards that you absolutely NEED?  Are you just trying to keep up with the Jonses on the forum?  You have a solid collection of cards already that can do pretty much everything.  Go over your credit needs and see if your spending can match what you're looking for.  Don't just add cards to add cards.  Ideally, it is good to have 3 cards for maximum scoring purposes.  Any more than that is based strictly off your needs.

Re: Small app spree?

Nop, none needed, but also not trying to keep up w anybody and I'm not jonesin for a fix either haha. It's moreso a long game sort of thing. I know I'll be opening more cards down the line. I'd rather not continuously get hit by aaoa harder later. Pretty much all my ducks are in a row I just don't see a good enough reason not to.
The only cards I whip around with right now are CSP/It/Bcp. But knowing in the future it may be very difficult to get the chase cards is also pushing this atleast somewhat. Ideally I'll not be apping for anything for a good long while after this. I'm a pretty easy gardener(inq overload is due to a dealership) if I can open a card, hit the aaoa, and get the hit out of the way now rather than later I don't see why not.
I'm a somewhat controlled credit guy =) I just want to get the cards out of the way sooner than later really.

What cards are you looking at getting?

How many do you want to get?

Re: Small app spree?

I think the AAoA argument of app sprees is a bit flawed. If you do the math starting from 0 and add one card every 6 months, the average age increases each time. Doing app sprees as a strategy is flawed but to each his own. Its just FUN!!! Its just my opinion but I want to have apps to look forward to not do them all at once and then never app again? Highly unlikely. Pick one card you REALLY want and get that and then take your time and figure out what else you want and get another one in 6 months. Taking your time you may find you really don't want anything else and then you're not on here asking us what you should close. The above poster JonE was right, you already have a nice line up of cards. You don't need a lot. But who am I to tell you what you need. I just think a long term strategy should be just that. Long term. Sorry if I rained on your parade.

Re: Small app spree?

Flawed? I don't mean for this to turn into a preference debate, but 3 cards at once in a year becomes 1 year aaoa, one card every 6 months (after the 3rd) in those same 12 months is a 4 month aaoa.if I'm going to take aaoa hits I'd rather take them now while I'm younger and have them literally grow with me.
And no, not all of my apps at once. There are many cards out there, definitely not saying I won't app ever again. But the next 6 months? Year? Don't see it happening unless I magically get some dream job that cab support one card having a $450 annual fee.

Your not raining on any parade, you can have your own opinion that's fine but math is math and math is a fact. If you're talking to an addict, that's fine, discourage apping, that's probably for the best. You're not, as i thought I had stated above, but if I'm going to spend money why not get a bonus for doing so and open a card I can get use out of.

To add, JUST SO WE'RE CLEAR, I'm asking for card recommendations, not why this is a bad idea, I do already have cards in mind that would both be useful and give a bonus. The venture because I find myself having expenses that don't give more than 1.5 on, such as movie/lift tickets, copays on vision/dental/health, I would love freedom for obvious csp reasons, yet likely won't be approved unless there is a bank prequal.thank you premier seems like it falls into the entertainment category I was referring to as well as the venture but I wanted input on it. If you have any recommendations or input on any solid cards that may be in my range I'd appreciate any input. Looking for 3 possible cards, at most, but not likely, 4.

Re: Small app spree?

Did you go on your spree yet?

I think the Thank You Premier or Prestiage cards are great but like I said it depends on what you want to do.

I like to travel so travel cards are important to me to happy get free or cheap tickets and hotels and travel in comfort.

Not yet. Inq falling off the last few days plus a few more the 1st/2nd. Dealer shotgunned last year and only a few were as an auto loan, just waiting for them to drop off.
