Only ones I know of is NASA FCU (when you app for both membership and a CC together it can be just a SP) YMMV
Some of the Comenity Visa/MC products were a SP via the SCT but that has since changed.
But, getting around having a HP for a new account doesn't hide the fact that you have a new account so I honestly think the point of apping this way is moot.

Agreed on the NASA, nice softies.
As for why avoid inquiries... new accounts affect your score for about 6 months. Most credit card underwriting will ignore new accounts after 6 months.
An inquiry affects your score for 1 year...and it stays for 2 years in total.
As an example, I applied for around 40 accounts using soft pulls ... after they showed up as new accounts I was denied EVERYTHING for 6 months. I tried apping a few times and just gave up. However, exactly 6 months after my megaspree, I was again getting approved by most lenders (Barclay, Citibank, Synchrony, Chase, AMEX, BofA).
Conversely, if I had 40 inquiries after 6 months, I believe I'd still be in the doghouse with those same lenders.

After 40 new accounts i can't imagine what someone would need to app for in the next year or two ![]()
Very interest, it's definitely worth investigating NASA CU. Thanks for the info.
When I joined early July my checking app and CC app were both SP's on EX. I think the key is to do your credit or loan apps the same day you join.
To Roseyk, I was just wandering how do you get a CL of 234,500 in less than 2 years starting with a cap one at 300.00. I am really interested and would much appreciate any advice on how you have been so successful...

+1
Just did this the other day and got both the Savings and a Visa Cash Rewards card with only EX SP. SL of $8700 on Visa. Be prepared to verifiy identitiy, income, and proof of address.
GameStop with approval in store is the only one I know of that can still do soft pulls and approve.
