Hello! I've found the smart folks ☺
Here's my situation:
Finally hit Fico of 715 and rising...
I've still got old student loan debt but I'm on it regular payment wise. 20+ year credit history with 5 grand in unpaid medical debt 4 years old (long story of insurance woes)
Bofa cc 10,000 limit and they won't give more.
The rest of my ccs are pretty recent:
Discover 8000 limit
Chase sw 6000 limit
Cap 1 qs 9000 limit
Amazon 1500
Little owed on ccs (under 1000 total out of 35,000 avail) but 30,000 due on student loans affecting my ratio. 4 hard pulls last 2 years at least.
Semi-retired and low revenue stream at present, but no other debts/credits.
Wondering what might be available at present in terms of more credit. I don't use much but it gives me something to do.
I don't have a MasterCard so thinking that might be next?
Where would you folks look for a decent credit line in my situation?
My advice would be not to look for more credit, because the fact that it "gives [you] something to do" is not a good enough reason. If you want something to do, cultivate your scores by gardening.
If you don't take my advice, and insist on adding something, I would say join a credit union that has a card with low interest, and no transaction fees.

Really nothing. You got enough for your income stream per say. Decent cards. Work on your student loans and enjoy life. Your doing the right things util-wise. Be happy. many would love to be in your shoes card wise.
If, after reading the messages above, you might still want another card - IMHO, why don't you try for the American Express Everyday Blue Cash?
It give you 6% cash back on groceries, 3% cash back on groceries, and 1% cash back on everything else. I use this card A LOT!!
Good luck to you, whatever you decide.
OP - Getting a Mastercard just to get a Mastercard is pointless. If you want to grow your credit and credit lines - establish relationships with all the major players. You have Discover, Chase and Capital One. The next card if I were you, I would target Amex and then Citibank. But I would allow your current accounts to age a minimum of 6 months and I would wait 1 year before I aacquired another card.
And then I would be remiss if I did not point out that getting credit just to get credit is ok - but it is much better to acquire credit that aligns with your lifestyle, goals and spending habits. Focusing on a cash back, or airline/hotel points etc is a much more rewarding strategy.

Thank you all, I hear you.
Perhaps "don't get more credit" isn't what I wanted to hear
As I'm semi-retired not trying to up the FICO for a future mortgage...
Always something to add to the mix...
Well then tell us what kind of card you would like and we can make suggestions.
For me, I like low interest cards without fees, so that's why I recommended getting a credit union's platinum card. But if you'd like something different, just tell us what you're looking for.
