Maybe someone can help me? I have noticed a trend going on with capital one approvals for others and I need some insight on my situation. Currently I have a secured cap1 card that has been open since Aug 2012 (1st card in rebuilding) I had to put the whole $200 deposit for it. Since that time I have been given 2 CLI's totaling $350 I also deposited an additional 200 so my CLI is $750. Fast forward to now I currently have a credit steps sony card that now has a 1750 credit limit along with a kohls card (Cap1) among other credit cards (BOA,Chase etc) So everytime i do the prequalify on its site i never ever get ant offers So a few days ago i decided to bite the bullet and apply for QS well like i thought it was denied and the reason given was " Our current files indicate you have the maxium allowed 2 credit cards allowed by cap1" Well how do other get 3 and some 4 credit cards with them? I'm thinking of closing the secured card because i think that card is holding me back.. Any thought? Suggestions? Sorry so long! Thanks
Agreed. That card has served its purpose. Just remember Cap1 is gonna give you the old triple pull when you apply for a new card.
Exactly. I just see people getting crazy limits and getting over 2 credit cards with them but they tell me i have reached the maxium 2 cc allowed. Confusing.

You can get up to 4 cards but only two can be subprime cards and only two can be prime cards
okay that actually makes sense! To bad they dont state that in the email! To me its like their saying 2 is the most. Thank you. Still really wanting to close the secured card.

Yeah they should be specific and I would close the secured card. Time to move on. If you do that just reapply again if you can take the inquiries.
I will tomorrow. tired of that secured card!
It's great that you're ready to grow past it!
I know how you feel I just closed my Partially secured card Monday. 2/3 it turned 3 years old and it went bye bye.
