I lost my head and clicked the popup for the Overstock card a few days ago. No hard pull.

HP's apply to Visa/MC cards, not store cards, those remain SP's through SCT although still impact your AAoA

I just apped for the Sportsmans Guide Visa on 6/2 using the SCT and it was still a SP.
I have checked my reports daily and a HP did not show up, so I would have to say that it is not always a HP for a Visa or MC.
YMMV

Consider yourself winning a small lottery not getting a HP.. They have changed the policy.. Good for you though!

Only if it reports, and I'd have to actually use it for that to happen. ![]()
Would love to have the card, but too many INQs and recent approvals. Need to garden. Was tempted though when it came up, but have to be strong. Glad I can't get the SCT to work on Gander Mountain. I would really be in trouble then.
Yes- this IS a Visa I am applying for, not a store card! Thus the SCT does nothing but result in an HP -same as aplying the regular way.
I think the odds are better of getting a Cabelas Visa. The DW got approved for $5000 with a 702 Eq.
Do you want the card? I had 18 INQs on EX when I went after my BCE and ED and got them and that was Amex. It's decision time for you. I've gotten 10 cards in the last 6 months and need to get my AAoA and scores up or else I would go for it. Good luck whatever you do.
I've never had luck with the SCT until I just tried this (Google Chrome) and I added the membership and a sleeping bag, pre-filled out the checkout as a guest and it popped up. I'm also gardening and don't want a HP. My concern is it would be a HP because at the bottom it does say "Subject to final credit approval".
At least I know the SCT works for me finally, even if it is just for fun.
