@CreditAggie wrote:My BofA Cash Rewards is five months old yet I have the button to request a credit line increase. I find this interesting since data points suggest that your card has to be at least a year old before being eligible for a CLI. I plan to wait until my card is a year old before requesting one anyway.
@CreditAggie That definitely was not the case for me; when I opened my Cash Rewards card I was able to request CLI's at regular 90-day intervals. Having to wait a year for a CLI sounds specific to a particular credit profile and not a general rule.
For my Alaska card, I tried the link at three months old & six months old, both denials with the "relationship" explanation. The CSR I spoke to after the second denial only told me to wait until 12 months to try again. I pretty much stopped spending on the card for the next six months. On my anniversary, BofA gave me an auto-CLI. Maybe when the link shows up is based on your profile. Anyways, good luck.

That so? I hadn't read that. Can you add more details please?
Here's a thread from November that suggests this: https://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Credit-Card-Applications/BofA-CLI-on-new-account/m-p/5826124. It could very well be a YMMV based on credit profile and relationship with BofA.

Yeah, def looks like YMMV -- The OP in that thread had a 640 Fico. Thanks for providing the link. I feel much better about my chances now.
If, when you log in you do have the link, is it going to be a hard pull if you request an increase?

It's almost always (as in like 99%+ certainty) a Transunion soft-pull.
My last increase was in March. I don't expect to see the link again until July. I'm planning to use the card for upcoming renewals and membership fees. Hopefully, they continue to show me love and the BT offers are sweetened.
