Coming up on 14 years since I filed Ch 7 and Barclays was IIB (It was for a small amount from what I remember on a US Airways card maybe $2K or so) Anyway decided to see if I am still on the BL after all these years and applied for the AA Aviator card. I have a 775 TU score and instant denial! No reason was given but I think it is pretty safe to assume we know the reason. Even Amex and Citi have let me off the BL in recent years. I havent tried Chase but I will do that in the coming year perhaps. Prob still on their BL also although I was pre-qualified for the Chase Amazon card. I havent been bold enough to pull the trigger on that one just yet. Oh well so much for my hopes of getting all those nice AA miles. I will assume they didnt HP my TU because I have so many monitoring services and usually I get immediate alerts if there is a pull but I will check my TU tomorrow and see if anything showed up. Hope not.
Barclays has a very very long memory only seen maybe two people get off their black list. It will take a call and pleading your case with a supervisor to possisibly yield and approval if you are up for pleading how you have turned over a new leaf etc. Up to you on that. Chase likely you will be fine with especially on the Amazon card if denied call up and recon especially if pre-qualified/approved. Might need a call on that as well, but doubtful.

Yeah, as @CreditCuriosity said, you'll be fine with Chase; my lone Chase card was IIB in 2015 for north of ten-grand and they let me back in a year ago this week with a starting limit of nearly twelve-grand and then followed up last summer with a second card with double the limit of the first card.
Chapter 13:
I categorically refuse to do AZEO!

I got a 6k barclay's charge off like 9 years ago and haven't even wanted to try lol They were such jerk offs anyway.
BUT barclay's also is very recon friendly. Call them up for a recon if you wanna push the envelope and provide us an anedodtal approval! would LOVE to see it! it's the holiday's. In the name of Xmas!

Can i ask what card you got back in with with Chase? Was it also the Amazon card? I had multiple Chase cards that were IIB and I owed them prob 10-15K if not more. Just dont remember TBH. Those were horrendous times. Both myself and spouse were long term unemployed starting in 2008. I havent had a late payment on anything in close to a decade now. I wish Barclays would be more forgiving like the other lenders.
They are recon friendly? I did not know that. Ive never done a recon what should I say?
If it were me, I'd forget Barclays and go for the Citibank AA card.
Barclays is just...weird.

I have a Barclays CO of 1k from 2016. I have tried few times and declined citing previous card. I even had a long conversation with EO lady and that did not yield any change. I burned Chase/Amex in 2016 and they let me in with multiple cards with good SL. I thought Barclays will let me in but no. I, however, app every three months since there is no HP. Though Braclays is not a great bank, it is just that there decline is itching me and I app every three months.
