More of a rant than anything-
I had a bbva card that got moved to PNC. Perfect payment history, about 50% utl. Near the time of the merger last year I was revolving. Right before the merger BBVA balanced chased me (no major changes in fico, spending, no new baddies). I guess they were trying to make their portfolio look good for the merger.
as a result I completely paid off the card the interest rate was high anyway and I didn't like being at 100% UTL obviously.
ever since the merger the balance on the card has been zero dollars with a couple of spends here and they're paying off in full.
I've applied for multiple CLI requests. Same answer every time "insufficient credit experience".
it seems like people are having success with PNC even without having to spend a lot on the cards. Has anyone been rejected for CLIs then took specific actions to be approved? What were those actions if so?
What was the CL/Balance before the move that led to AA. Did you have any baddies before the move also. No one will match on how each account acts. We compare all the stats here yes. But its a YMMV thing. And finally whats your CL now?

I strongly believe that its YMMV...My best friend was with BBVA for 4-5 yrs...with $16k limit...always paid bill in full...then PNC took over....he does use card and his credit reports become more better and score in 800...but not even one time PNC approved his request for CLI despite of having better score, better profile, no utilization...and even after showing enough spending, but on the other hand many members on here have reported that they got CLI of $5k or more even using the card not even once. Thus, YMMV is so true with PNC when it comes to CLI...

Yes was with BBVA for 3 years limit was $2500 they cut it to $1800 my balance at the time. Paid the card off. Same limit at PNC no increases much better credit profile too. My theory is depending on what your profile was when you got your BBVA card, PNC has you flagged at that profile still. In my case I got my BBVA card 1 year post ch7 discharge. Since I've had a stellar profile, low utl, multiple prime cards, a mortgage, etc life has been great. 6 years out post DC I can't get anything from PNC seems like it's a bucketing issue.
