Did you get very far with FIA AMEX? How many recon attempts was it 14-15+? Let's not forget that Citi Double Cash (or Diners) were no successes either. It is what it is.
Just being realistic since at some point it becomes more counterproductive than it's worth. It's not like the OP did not try! If it doesn't happen now for the OP, is that the end of credit for him? The OP will likely qualify for it at some point. Just sayin'

You're welcome. It's really up to you to decide whether calling back more times is really worth it. Admittedly, there will be situations when one analyst can override another one's decision even if you space things out between calls - but it all depends. Despite his charm and other hat tricks, Nixon was not able to convince the FIA folks to overturn their decision. Every lender is different.
However, if Barclays tightens the reins and have it well-documented in their notes, no "telethon" will change things and it's going to take some else higher to override it (i.e. Sr UW or manager). This would all be based on your time/effort of course
I don't see any point in acting as though I'm desperate; I'll live.
@SouthJamaica wrote:5/26 The denial finally came through so I called Recon.... got a very helpful guy who tried hard to transfer the credit from one of my other cards, but couldn't do it due to my high numbers of inquiries and recent accounts. Advised me to keep on managing my credit the way I have been, and to wait at least 6 mos to reapply.
The Ring will be the next Barclays card I get... sometime this fall once my TU report is clean. EE has my BK13 stuff falling off TU on 10/1... and score should jump to well over 700 at that time. By then I'll also have no INQ's and no new accounts in 6 months.
I did the same thing to get Sallie Mae. I had the Apple card... used it 16 months... from 9/2013 to 12/2014 when approved for SM. I also gardened for all of 2014 so when I applied for SM I had no INQs and no new accounts in a year.
Instant approval.
Will do it again for the Ring this fall.

Your Sallie Mae was instantly approved for how much?
(I'm on mobile)
It was an instant approval for $4500... I then transferred the $2200 limit over from my Apple card to make it $6700... then closed the Apple. My TU score was 660's but I had 16 months history with the Apple card.. and we all know how Barclays values history. The Apple card was to get in the door with Barclays. I had my eyes on SM from the beginning... and everything worked out perfectly.
My 6th Sallie Mae statement is 6/17... I've ran $1000-$5000 per month thru the card in 30-40 transactions and have PIF each month... hopefully they'll love me enough for an auto CLI. I got one last year at 6 months on my old Apple card so hopefully the trend will continue...
very good strategy TRC. im using that same logic. however. i see my last baddie is coming off in a couple weeks. i will go for the ring in my case instead of the SM. sooner rather than later.
I did notice. they removed the collection from my Experian This morning. and im dissapointed to say the least.
I got a small bump. about 30 points. from 689 to 727. seeing how the collection is 5 years old and already paid.
nothing yet on the Tu or EQ. hoping for a bigger bump on tu. so ring card here i come. current tu 687. if they give me limit like they gave you i will just move partial of the limit from apple. and keep it and let it continue to grow.

Hillarious
Well I finally got my rejection letter today.
And I've never actually seen one like it before.
They say I was turned down for too many recent applications.
And they say they did not pull a credit report!

Ooh. That's the Barclays auto denial. If you applied I. Last 90-120 days. If you go to application status page. The.n after you no longer see your name there. You will no longer get the auto denial. I learned that the hard wY.
Not so, because I waited to make this application until nothing was showing on the application status page.
