Suntrust application failed - website technical failures twice and asked to apply in person

I applied for Suntrust pre-approval credit card with a nice balance transfer for 3 years but after the first two attempts the website showing blank white screen with no response. The third time it asked me to apply again in person and saying something having difficulties on their website. The problem is I just found out I received a hp today so I chat with a rep. After few minutes, the rep sent a message through a standard message asking me to contact the underwriting once they are opened next week.  I rather received a deny letter letter. They sent me several applications which I ignored for sometime mostly mortgage related and I finally I responded with this credit card offer. I think it is best sometimes to apply for credit card during the week day not weekend since their websites sometime going through maintenance which could affect our applications.

Sorry Ben, thanks for sharing. If you already took the hp, definetly try and talk to UW. It still could be an approval Good luck

Thank you for the reply. I guess I am not lucky this time. I still think that my timing to apply especially on the weekend did affect the whole process since their website was not working or in maintenance. Although PenFed was in maintenance the whole application didn't go through which allowed me to continue. I will try to contact them next week.
