Re: Synch Identity Verification

What they told me today is customer service is looking at one part of the computer system and the new credit department is looking at another part of the system.

When I call up the computer recognizes my phone number.

My problem isn't that I'm getting approved or denied for this card my problem is that they were able to pull my credit report without verifying my identity. That's my main concern.

Thank you for responding.

Re: Synch Identity Verification

Wow thank you for your detailed response.

Apparently Wells Fargo is using an old phone number from when I first joined Wells Fargo which is over 18 years ago.

I spoke to Experian and they don't have any idea why my phone number didn't transfer along with my credit report.

I supplied them with everything they asked for I haven't said no to any requests because as one of the posters mentioned I'd be upset if somebody opened a card in my name.

But everything they ask me for they're not accepting and keep going back to we can't verify your phone number.

We change your phone numbers sometimes as often as we change our underwear hopefully, lol, something so important should not be hung up on not being able to verify a phone number.

Especially when I've been to the branch three times he's scanned my Wells Fargo card he pulls up my account he's looking me in the face, I work for the federal government and never had to go through this during my FBI background check.

This is just over the top stupid now.

Because again they pulled my credit report without verifying my identity that should be very concerning to people.

Re: Synch Identity Verification

@Ramsport

I am running into this "identity verification" issue with WF myself, and just happened to run into this thread.  How did your ordeals with WF turn out in the end?

I cannot understand, how in the world WF cannot verify someone who walks into their branch personally with proper ID and tells them that he/she did indeed apply for a said credit card/loan/whatever?  Isn't that the most reliable way to "identify" someone?  I don't get it.

I hope your issue was resolved.  If not, I will remain speechless.
