Synchrony Further Processing Denial?

Hi everyone!

I received a letter in the mail to verify my identity for an American Eagle Outfitters card application.  I went through the selfie video and photos of my DL's and called with the passcode.  After 5 minutes on hold the representative came back on the line and said further processing is needed and I'll receive a letter in 7-10 days.  Does that mean they denied the application?

Sounds like it, but I don't think it's definitive. Fingers crossed.

Re: Synchrony Further Processing Denial?

my experience is 100% not.

this usually means youre approved already but something like information is off or they need to verify your ID.

last time I did this was three months ago. Its become very common with them, and if they are doing this to you now, I'd start taking a hard look at any other SyncB cards you have or consider cards you don't have... becaus emy point is that if you are over exposed (like they make up all your credit lines used or unused - ) they will arbirtrarily close all accounts.

To me, when they did that, it felt like a warning.

I think you misanswered a question. Normally after you do the facial recog thing, they'll send a code for you to call back with to complete approval.

Re: Synchrony Further Processing Denial?

Thanks for the replies.

after I did the selfie and driver's license thing and called in with the code, the agent asked me for the original application code and the passcode you get after the selfie and then put me on hold while he looked over the application.  When he came back he said the application needs further processing, which usually is a denial.  I recieved a letter in the mail about a week later stating that information I gave and information they reviewed didn't match, so they couldn't approve the application.  Their source was Transunion and the information I gave is listed on Transunion, so not sure what they're referring to, but I'll give it 6 months and try again.
