So I received my Marvel card back in April with a $3000 SL. I use it and pay it off. I've requested a CLI before and it said "not enough history" This time I requested I got a letter saying "serious deliquency on your reports" . My credit score is 700. I had some 120 day lates 3 years ago for a school loan due to a deferment. Since then my report has been clean.
I don't understand why they approved me for the card but declined a CLI? Those lates are even older now then when I got the card?
Is this going to be the situation for all my new credit card CLI requests?

Is this from calling credit solutions? It appears you selected the online credit limit increase. No Bueno.
Find pizza's post on "Synchrony Guide"
Also, the posts I've found seem to lean to TU scores of 720+ for any snowball increase. 670+ will get you to $6000 via what information I've found and personally experienced. YMMV.
^^^ This exactly.
Something else is that when you use the online site to request a CLI the SP they use might be old... I had that happen on my last CLI request with Lowe's. They denied it due to a laundry list of reasons that had never been a problem before, but most importantly the reasons were no longer on my credit report (my 'freedom day' was May 1).
Since I knew my data had changed significantly I called Credit Solutions and got exactly what I wanted (they will do a SP while you wait). Even if your information hasn't changed significantly, call Credit Solutions anyway... they can almost always do better than you can do online (either using the CLI 'button' or chat).
Keep BuYao's suggestions in mind... the stronger your TU the better your results will be. It doesn't hurt to try; 95% of the time it's a SP and many times if they can't give you what you want they will counter-offer. There's nothing to lose by trying!
Give our Buddy a call 877-379-8173.
Alot depends on your TU score.
As said before if its not improved or lots of new accounts this may prevent them from giving you more.
With that said ask for $25k and they will counter.
Thanks for the advice everyone.
This request was made through calling credit solutions. The lady had me on hold for a long time and came back and said unfortunately we cannot increase your credit. I read on these forums it was better to call.
My TU score is 710 as of today. Should I try again maybe in a few weeks? I will read pizza's forum on CLI's for synch.

Sorry OP. What else is on your report (i.e., utilization, overall credit limits, cards with balances, etc...)? They'll take all that into consideration. If none of those are issues for you, I would call again in a week or two since it's only a SP. If any of the items mentioned are issues, I would wait until they are resolved IMO.
I keep my overall utilization under 10% and on this card as well.
I just thought since they approved me for a card and that I am starting to build a relationship with them that they would give me a CLI.
Im going to wait and try again next month.
