In June 2021, I was BK7 discharged. On the day of discharge, I got a Capital One with a 3k limit, and other cards since then, including Comenity Bank retail cards and their Amex. Even recently, I got approved for the Apple Card, but I have yet to get approved with any Synchrony Bank credit card. I had two Synchrony accounts included in the bk, a PayPal Credit line with a 640.00 balance and a PayPal MasterCard balance of 405.00. Is it typical to be declined by Synchrony after almost two years, especially when so little got discharged?
yes. synchrony is picky like that. i was on their blacklist for 5 years after i filed bk13 and they were IIB. i was well into my 700's during my rebuild and they wouldnt budge. i got the apple card, penfed, cap1 & others. i kept getting denied for anything syncrhony had. stick with it and keep checking their prequalification cards. lowes, american eagle, & synchrony car care has a prequal also. since i was removed from their blacklist ive been approved several of their cards including ppc mastercard, jcpenney mastercard, and lowes with a 10k limit. lowes was IIB also. if your scores stay decent they will let you back in eventually. just keep checking their prequal offers.

Couple yrs isnt a long time after burning a creditor. They're shutting down long time account holders for no reason. All their cards. I didnt burn them. Tried after 4 yrs and got in. Might want to look into other cards to build more post BK history. Then hit em up next year.
My reply might be a few days late...My experience w/ Synchrony- I burned SB on multiple accts on bk7 DC'd 5/2020. I applied for many accounts shortly after DC. I wasn't let back in w/ SB 'till recently (~2.5 yrs, post bk7). SB only let me have a few accounts, not free reign. Many other banks let me back in after I burned them before SB did, such as Cap1, Commenity, & TDB. I feel lucky to be let back in at all after basically stealing from them. SB accounts I have attained in the last six mos. - Amazon, Car Care, Lowe's, & Cathay Pacific Visa.

I hope I am not derailing this thread by asking you which card TD bank gave you after the discharge and how much you burned them for?
I burned TD for 8k in my bk7 dc 12/2019.
I do have one card thats kind of with them but its a store card, Target Red Card 1300 limit.
Which card did TD give you? starting limit of card? any other info you would be kind enough to provide such as do you do banking with them etc, Thanks
The day I got discharged, I got a Capital One with a 3k limit. I'm close to 2 years post-discharged, and I'm my FICO, it's at around 730, and cards with a 10k limit. But PenFed has yet to let me get a credit card. I only have a small OD line of credit which I do not use.

Was Penfed included in your bk ? I have read that credit unions are sticklers about being burned in bk and want all their money back before they will let you back in.
Penfed gave me the PCR 7.5k sl less than 2 years post bk7 dc and a gold card 2 1/2 years post bk7 dc but i did not burn them or NFCU.
I never had PenFed until after bk. I did burn the hell out of NFCU, though, 40k, to be exact. Maybe the inquiries in my report don't help with PenFed, then. With BCU, I have a 10k visa signature card and a 5k personal LOC. I just wanted the 2% cashback card with PenFed, but who knows, maybe sometime soon. I have the Bread Cashback Amex 2% card, which is great, and the Apple Card, my most recent credit card.

In my opinion I domt think inquiries are a major stumbling block since I had more than 20 when I was approved for both my penfed cards, it must be something else, ymmv.
I also have the Bread Amex cb card but its definitely a pif type card with that lofty interest rate.
I iib walmart when it was still synch discharge was 08/2019 and my PayPal CC was approved 09/20. Just gotta hope synch likes your rebuild
