I have tried two months in a row for a CLI on my PayPal Extras MasterCard (converted from a PayPal store card in June of this year). It's been stuck at an oddball $790 CL for the last 3 years.
I called the US-based Credit Solutions in July, asked for $10K, denied. Then a few days ago, I called the "overseas" Credit Solutions number, asked for $5K, also denied.
My TU scores are now in the 670s so I'm surprised at the denials. Does Sync like to see more activity on a card before granting a CLI? I've only charged $1.25 on this card since it converted to MC, so I'm wondering if my usual zero balance has anything to do with it.
Either way, I have not been impressed with Synchrony.
This is in no way aimed at you or your profile.........but with Sync, just be happy they haven't closed your account. I would lay low with them for awhile to avoid AA.
Dude, Synch has the same issues with me lol The feelings mutual! HATE SYNCH.

+1000.
Synchrony bank has been closing accounts right and left. No need to give them a reason to SP your report.
Accept Sync for what they are. If you dont like it, close the account. Otherwise, you should expect the unexpected from them ... possible AA for no reason, with account lockouts....even though you have a perfect payment history, with good credit scores....., or, to get CLI's way beyond what they should give.... There is no reason to EVER have a gas card at $6000, for example...
It's a mix of them being a smaller bank and perhaps your stats not being high enough for them to approve it. I applied for Paypal's credit card with a score in the 780s and they only approved me for $3k. So even if your numbers were higher, I think they are just too small to offer limits that are high enough to be practical for most people. I'd suggest to build up your profile and lay off the CLI requests for a while.
Give the number in my thread a call and see what happens
Just keep using your card as usual then and try again in a few months. I didn't know which # you had called but, in my instance and a few others trying the foreign CS line was more productive than online or US efforts.

@austinguy - that WAS the number I called! Sounded like someone in India.
No big deal but I'll keep trying every so often... Perhaps with more usage and score improvements they'll budge one day. I'll take the risk of FR or account closure as Synchrony only represents a tiny portion of my overall credit profile (just the PayPal MC + a Walmart store card with an equally odd $220 limit!)
+1
The closer you get your TU to 700 the more generous they will get. Once your TU is past 730 or so you'll be able to ask for the really big CLIs if that's what you're going for.
In any case, hang in there and don't give up!
Edited to add: The number you used was the same one I've used... don't give up on it!
