So I had to call in to Target the other day because I got locked out of my online portal. My card's CL has been stuck at $700 since 02/2018. Before I spoke to someone, then menu said my available credit was $910. I instantly got excited. Well, I logged into the account after they fixed it. My credit limit still shows $700! So I called in again the next day and the automated system said the same thing, $910 available.
Has anyone else had this happen? My next statement doesn't cut until 11/25, so maybe they are waiting until then to post my CLI. I remember when I got one last, it showed up after the statement cut. But I am also wondering if this is just some computer glitch. I know they soft pull my Experian report a few times a year, and that report/score has been improving a lot this year.
I've never seen that but i don't check my account too often as I had mine set to auto pay.
I say wait and see if it updates again once the stmt cuts
Sounds like it may just be a glitch. The credit limit is updated in your account right at midnight Eastern Time on the statement cut date along with the minimum amount due (although not the due date which has nearly given me a heart attack a few times because it looks like you missed a payment; that doesn't update for a few more hours).
Hopefully it's not a glitch and you really did get one, though. You don't have any recent or pending credits, right?
No. I made a payment maybe 2 weeks ago for $300.
@RehabbingANDBlabbing (never called) but several times last week and earlier this week (am & pm) I've tried logging in and would get a "maintenance" message and to check back later. When I could finally get onto the portal everything was as it's always been. This pattern made me wonder if dh's acct. was being reviewed....daily perhaps it appeared to be the case to me...just a guess/hunch.
After reading your message just now I tried logging in again and Surprise! a $500 auto cli has recently posted on the portal.
Hopefully the same thing will be going on with your acct. too. Keep checking and good luck!
I've had a Redcard for like 15+ years now and have yet to get PC'd to a MC and haven't had a CLI in years. Apparently they don't much like me? If you can figure out how you worked the magic to get the CLI I'm all ears.

I ain't sure if I got one yet. It's still saying $910 when I call in and $700 online. My statement cuts on the 25th, but other people are reporting CLIs.
my Experian score has recently improved, but I always pay this card down to $0 before the statement cuts. I thought for a while that it was holding me back from getting an increase, but I didn't want a balance on this card to drop my score, so I kept PIFing. I usually spend between $100 and $300 a month on this card. My last increase was in 02/2018. The account has been open since 06/2016. It only started at $400 so they have not been particularly generous to me.

How often do you use the card? How much of the limit do you use? What's the current CL and when was the last CLI? Do you frequently update your income and/or let a balance report?
