Hi so I've had my target card since 11/2019 CL $300. NO CLI this whole time. Zero lates. I did have a couple return payments due to me entering wrong account number. I quickly fixed the error. I spend alot in target. I've tried everything paying in full, carrying a blance, updating my income. I'm just over it. My family loves target however this limit does nothing for us. Should I close this card and reapply...ughhhhhh...Can someone chime in thanks.
Can u say it again. My Target card is one of my most used card, I spend between $500 to $600 monthly and it's still sitting at $300 after 6 months 😒. I can't even get rid of it because I USE IT ALOT 😆
But your situation is different. I'd be livid after 2 years 🙄. Had I only known Target didn't have a cli button 😣
omg..I hope you get an increase soon. That's so weird you're not able to request CLI. It's one of my oldest cards. ugghhh
I love the red card, i use it a ton. in 14 months i managed to pry 2 cli's from them {td bank}.
300 - 500 at 8 months by updating my income
500 - 700 at 14 months by updating my income
I only pif once. i usually carry a balance of 10 - 40 percent
thanks.. its been 2 yrs nothing. I think I'm just going to put in the sock drawer...that's going to hurt ...We love target ....

There's your problem.
Having a single returned payment due to an error on your part will put you in CLI timeout for a period of time with just about every issuer. With some of them a repeat occurence will automatically trigger an account closure due to an unsatisfactory relationship. Even though in your case you quickly recognized and corrected the error both times they would still see them as showing a lack of discipline on your part.
The problem is tracked with you individually and not just the account so trying to sidestep it by closing the current account and reapplying wouldn't work and in fact you would risk being denied when reapplying.

I was about to say the same thing. Returned payments are just as bad, if not worse, than late payments. That'll do you in with ANY lender, not just TD Bank.
I see your frustration but there's not an advantage to close it and reapplying imho.
When I first had the card, we would take advantage of the 5% off the bill and then head to the CS counter with a bank check in hand to pay that bill from 5 seconds ago. This card is a long game.
Here is history from my initial years:
Apr 2014 $500
Oct 2014 $1000
Aug 2016 $1400
Jun 2017 $4000 & MC upgrade.
Keep at it.
thanks for your input. I am still left unsure what to do.

I have had the card for 6 years now. Started with a $300 CLI like you and since mine has grown to $8,000. I have never carried a balance and always PIF. You can't ask for a CLI, it is completely up to them when and if they give it to you.
Honestly I wouldn't get worked up about this since they have a red card debit card that gives the same 5% off at the register and you don't have to do an HP and get hit with a new account when getting it. Had I known of the debit card's existence I wouldn't have gotten the credit card. Now that it has a large CL and is my oldest open account and I do a lot of shopping at target I will keep mine open for those reasons.
