Target RedCard Requirements

Hi,

I'm considering apping for the Target RedCard what do you think chances are for me?

5 baddies adding up to about 4K
But CR shows 100% payment history (mainly student loans)

CS/FICO around 620
What is the lowest CS they usually approve? I'm fine with their lowest limit (probably $300 from what I've seen).

Re: Target RedCard Requirements

This card is issued by TD bank, which is not known for overlooking blemishes. My suggestion would be to wait, if you can.

Re: Target RedCard Requirements

Regardless of who it's issued by Target would set the requirements because they would be backing taking the hit.

At least this is what I've read from other users regarding Kohl's?

Re: Target RedCard Requirements

Capital One's underwriting is usually stricter but people get approved for Kohl's cards due to Kohl's having looser requirements I've read.

Re: Target RedCard Requirements

I have read that The Red Card is one of the harder ones to get , you can go on Credit Data Pulls and check to see what the scores they are approving for. Have you tried Wal Mart , a little more laid back.

Targets the only store is actually use it at though 🙈 Maybe Kohl's too but I feel like Kohl's might have stricter underwriting.

Re: Target RedCard Requirements

I just got a $500 Red Card. 8 months post bk7 discharge. Scores around 650.

Walmart still refuses to have anything to do with me. But Amazon just approved me for $1300. Go figure.

Re: Target RedCard Requirements

Have you considered the Target Debit Redcard? It is set up using your checking account but you get the same benefits as the Target charge card -- 5% discount on purchases and free online shipping.

I was approved last year when my scores were still in the high 500s. $300 SL. Now at $1K and getting upgraded to the MasterCard! I think you stand a decent chance. At the time of my approval I had one collection (now deleted) and multiple past lates from two years prior that had been a result of job loss. When I was approved everything had been paid current, utilization at the time was 40%. Best of luck if you apply!

Started rebuilding 8/2015. Current Fico 8 Scores 9/17: TU FICO: 698 (from 646 3/15/16) | EX FICO: 689 (from 617 3/15/16) | EQ FICO: 670 (from 614 3/15/16). Discover Miles: $10K | Amex PRG | Amex BCE $2K | Amex SPG $2K | Citi Aadvantage $7K | JetBlue Plus MC $3.9K | Walmart MC $3.5K | Marvel MC $5K | NFCU CashRewards $15K | CareCredit $12K | PenFed Amex $9K | USAA Limitless Visa Sig $6K | NFCU goRewards $20K | NFCU Amex $10.4K | NavCheck $13.5K | Blispay $4K | QS $9.5K | Pier 1 $21.1K | RH $20.7K | JCrew $16.8K | Wayfair $4.9K | Pottery Barn $19.5K | Discover IT $4.1K | Nord. Visa Sig $22K | USAA Visa Plat $2.5K | Neiman Marcus $6.4k | Amex Delta Reserve $1k | Saks $15K | VS $2.2K | Target $1K | Macy's $25K | Bloomies Amex $25K| West Elm $12.4K | PP Credit (Comenity) $4.4K

Perhaps I missed something in the thread.. what does Target, and TD have to do with Kohls and CapOne?

Also, if you look at Creditpulls database, you will see that Kohls is the one that is much more lenient.. TD can be tough, and unforgiving

NFCU $60.4k/PenFed $22.5k/Commerce $15K/53 $11K/Synovus $14K/BBT $11K/CapOne $12K/DCU $7.5K/BMO $7.5K/Chase $14.5k/Cabelas $10K/ and many many more!
Total CL $398600, plus car and RV loan.
Ooh. Ooh. Getting closer to that $500K mark!
