Target Redcard/Barclay Apple Denial :(

Took the plunge today and app'd in store but I received the 10 day message. I called to inquire and I was told it was denied due to information from Equifax. O well, I was approved for Kohl's today so it's bittersweet. I also app'd for the Barclay Apple (high hopes I know), when I called for a recon the rep was super nice and said they want to see more growth from my Cap 1 card which is totally understandable. I'm taking my behind to the garden after this fun filled day, geesh.

Re: Target Redcard/Barclay Apple Denial :(

Do you have more then 6 INQ's in the last 90 days on your EQ report (the report that Target normally pulls) if they didn't pull EQ then whatever report they pulled. The reason I am asking because someone said once on here that they talked to a UW at target and they said if u have more then 6 INQ in the last 90 days their system automatically denies you no matter score and of course they don't do recons. I don't know how true it is and like everything else it's YMMV but just wanted to put that out there just in case.

I'm not sure how many inquiries I have, can I check that through the credit monitoring I have through myFICO? For some reason I was hoping they pulled TU in-store but I was wrong.

I guess you could count all the inquiry alerts from MyFico in the last 90 days of you wanted to unless you just pulled a updated report. Target is known to be a EQ puller no matter where or how you apply.

So I've learned. Target was one of the store cards I wanted before gardening but alas I'll have to go without it.

That costs $60.

I can think of 59.2 better things to spend $60, and it's just in time for the holidays!

Why?

Their debit card gives the same discount.
