Hi All - I've seen mixed reviews about Chase' 5/24 rule and whether it includes store cards (non-MC / Visa). Some say it does, some say it doesn't. So, I decided to test the waters, and received the 30 Day review message. If they don't count store cards, I am at 4/24. If they do count store cards (Lowes, Tractor Supply, & Best Buy) then I am at 7/24, which seems to me would be an auto-deny. Do they typically auto-deny for 5/24 rule?
Anyway, if it works out, I applied for the CSP to take advantage of the existing 100k SUB offer. If they do count store cards and it doesn't work out, I won't be under 5/24 until this time next year. So, I guess we'll wait and see. FYI - I applied yesterday and got the 30-day message. Called robo-lady today and she says "2 weeks". So, not sure if it has been processed/reviewed yet or not. Any ideas?
FYI, I live in Alabama and Chase has always pulled EQ & EX for me. My EQ Fico is 810 and EX is 796, so I suspect the only reason for a denial (if that happens) will be 5/24.
I have no idea why you'd believe there are mixed opinions regarding store cards.
5/24 has been in effect long enough to leave no doubt if they count or not.
If it's cc/charge card, it counts.

I've seen plenty of DPs to lead me to believe there are mixed opinions. Here is one I just found with a quick search:
Anyway, I guess I'll find out. I figured the hard pull was worth the risk for the 100k Chase UR. If I don't get it, there is no loss as I don't need it.
I "tested" the 5/24 rule last December (2019) and I was denied for the Hyatt card when I was 6/24. The denial was for too many accounts in 24 months. The 6/24 included a Google store account and a Wolf Furniture account (both Synchrony), so it definitely takes into account "store" cards.
As always, YMMV. In the post you linked, that person either slipped through the cracks or had a profile that Chase didn't mind expanding. I don't interpret that post from over 2 years ago to be sending mixed messages, especially after seeing the first comment by FinStar.

Yeah, I've seen plenty of other examples in other places (not all on myFICO), and like you said, YMMV in any situation. Regardless, I wanted to try it out myself... nothing to lose and 100k Chase UR to potentially gain. That offer likely won't come around again when I am officially < 5/24. Still surprised I wouldn't get an auto-denial if I am 7/24. Seems like a no-brainer. I just checked and they did pull both EQ and EX as they have in the past, but I suspect that is automatic and they'd pull both even if one is 5/24 or >. Anyway, I'll post back when I know the results.
Ya, I'm pretty sure mine was auto-denied and then had to wait for the letter. But maybe you'll squeeze through... you never know unless you try.

Store cards definitely count as one of the cards towards the 5/24
AU cards count too

If that is the case, then I am at 7/24 and I'll be getting my rejection letter at some point in the near future and I suspect the reasoning will be "too many new accounts", or something similar. As of right now, 48+ hours into it, robo-lady still says the "2 weeks" message. I know Chase is slow, but the 5/24 rules seems like an easy one that could be automated. Surprised it is taking this long to switch to the 7-10 day message. Who knows... maybe the message won't ever change and I'll still get the rejection letter. We'll see.

I've read on here that it is true that AU cards count, but that you can typically get it reconned for the AUs if it put you over 5/24.
