AU cards count too
If that is the case, then I am at 7/24 and I'll be getting my rejection letter at some point in the near future and I suspect the reasoning will be "too many new accounts", or something similar. As of right now, 48+ hours into it, robo-lady still says the "2 weeks" message. I know Chase is slow, but the 5/24 rules seems like an easy one that could be automated. Surprised it is taking this long to switch to the 7-10 day message. Who knows... maybe the message won't ever change and I'll still get the rejection letter. We'll see.
I've read on here that it is true that AU cards count, but that you can typically get it reconned for the AUs if it put you over 5/24.
Yup. I've seen that too. I am not an AU on any cards.

They would not budge and my wife had 3 AU cards putting her at 5/24. We heard that too, but had no luck after multiple recon calls
Update: Checked in again mid-day today and robo-lady is now saying the 7-10 day message, which if I recall, typically signifies a denial. At least in this case, that seems likely. I'll update this thread once I get the notification via snail mail.
@TSlop wrote:I "tested" the 5/24 rule last December (2019) and I was denied for the Hyatt card when I was 6/24. The denial was for too many accounts in 24 months. The 6/24 included a Google store account and a Wolf Furniture account (both Synchrony), so it definitely takes into account "store" cards.
As always, YMMV. In the post you linked, that person either slipped through the cracks or had a profile that Chase didn't mind expanding. I don't interpret that post from over 2 years ago to be sending mixed messages, especially after seeing the first comment by FinStar.
I "tested" the rule last year when i applied for my Chase United card in February. I was at 7/24. I squeaked through and got an approval. Chase has been really good to me, and seems to like my profile.
But, i'll be waiting until Feb 2022 when i'm at 4/24 to go after the Freedom Flex.

I received a letter from Chase yesterday saying they require a copy of my SS card to be faxed or mailed to them to verify my identity. Since they pulled my EQ and EX, they obviously know I am at 7/24 (if they count store cards), so it seems odd they'd even ask me to verify my identity. Also seems odd they'd request do verification and then deny based on the 5/24 rule. I guess I'll send it in and see what happens.
I would say this is a good sign. If they were hung up on the 5-24 thing, you would have gotten an instant denial or after a review they would have zapped the application into obliteration.
there has been some
DPs about the CSP getting approved over this. You would think Chase would be more selective being the SUB is so good but maybe they need more card members.
@Remedios wrote:I have no idea why you'd believe there are mixed opinions regarding store cards.
5/24 has been in effect long enough to leave no doubt if they count or not.
If it's cc/charge card, it counts.
I guess we can add this thread to the list of reasons there are mixed opinions regarding store cards. I haven't heard anything official from Chase, but I just happened to log in my Chase app and there is now a CSP account in there with a credit limit of $10k. Seems like an approval to me. I'm clearly 7/24 if they count store cards and 4/24 if they don't, so read into that what you will. Either they didn't count my store cards, or they made an exception for me without me even asking.
Congratulations!!!!! I've been following this post waiting to see the results.
Congrats!! Great story and win

Slam dunk!!! Congrats!
