Several folks have mentioned a hard CLI cap of 40% of entered income unrelated to other factors. Is this still the rule of thumb in there here parts? Could this be less likely to come into play if the CLI request is over 40% of entered income, but still below the 25,000 individual account CL / 34,500 total account CL mentioned in the guide?

None of the methods have better odds than the others, since it's system-based. I used the LUV button successfully last time, since I find it more convenient for me.

I know lots of things about credit are YMMV, but are you sure there is a 40% of income rule? I applied with a stated 12K yearly income, and I was instant approved for 8K, making this one CL 67% of my total annual income.

The issue seems to be if a requested CLI would take you above 40% of your income. Auto-CLIs and approvals don't seem to follow this. The odds are somewhat slim that an $8K CL would get a requested CLI to $24K on a $12K income, but as with anything, YMMV.

Do you definitely have to PIF before your 2nd statement for best 3x CLI approval odds? My current CL is $5500, I think I have like a $300 balance. Not sure if it really helps me to PIF before the statement cuts or not
To be safe and maximize any potential to get a 3X CLI, I would PIF before that 2nd statement is cut.

I did it all like I supposed to and got denied. Received my letter today and it states my denial was for "Youre FICO Score" Experian was pullled and its a 633 so not too surprised. Oh well I guess I'll just have to wait.

Sorry to hear that. Atleast the wait to make another CLI reqeust is only 90 days away.

I was denied also with a 700+ FICO. I was told that it was because I had a BK 9 years ago. I said why was I approved then. IDIOTS!! I told them to close my account. I have way better cards with 5 times the CL of AMEX. I dumped CapOne today. I love kicking these companies to the curb.

This is still well below the mythical 40% of income so I have some more room to grow.
